VIDEO- Fox News’ Jesse Watters Visits The University of Oregon, Makes Bernie Sanders Supporters Look Like Idiots

By now you’ve likely come across an overly enthusiastic Bernie Sanders supporter who can’t stop talking about his great ideas, like raising taxes on the rich, legalizing marijuana, making college free, etc. The funny thing is that outside of those issues, those “feelin’ the Bern” don’t know shit about his values or even politics, for that matter.

FOX News’ Jesse Watters, who loves pissing off liberals, visited the University of Oregon campus for Thursday’s edition of Watters World. He found out that yes, Sanders supporters truly are that dumb.

The video starts off hot with a supporter unable to identify if Sanders is a congressman or senator (he’s a senator from Vermont) and it just gets progressively better from there.

Personally, I can’t decide what part is my favorite: the idea that rich people should shop at thrift stores because a self-identified “queer” student gets his clothes there or the part where a woman says America can defeat ISIS by having a conversation with them.

It’s gotta be the ISIS part. Droppin’ knowledge, not bombs. Gold star for you, miss.

Now, if you’re a left-leaner and you’re blowing this segment off because it comes from the big bad Fox News, then I’ve got something for you. CNN did a similar survey of Bernie Sanders supporters’ knowledge shortly before the Iowa caucuses. For Team Sanders, it once again did NOT go well.

Just remember: Their votes count just as much as yours. Scary, right?

But it’s the same damm electoral college that cost Romney the election in 2012.

As much as I hate Obama, let’s not say things that just aren’t true.

Yes it is. Do you know how many more Republican voters would have turned out in loosing states like California and Illinois if it wasn’t for the EC? A LOT. Enough to swing the election.

I live in New York, and as a result I don’t vote in presidential elections because no matter what, we aren’t going republican.

The electoral college is the worst. There aren’t even a correct # of votes based on population and it puts focus on swing states that frankly we shouldn’t care about at all.
Abolish it and adopt a popular vote. Then you won’t get candidates pandering in these ridiculous ways. See a Republican try to win votes in California by talking about Jesus. Maybe you’ll actually focus on an issue instead.

I 100% agree. The EC was effective in the 18th century when votes needed to be tallied via the pony express. But now we have the technology to count total votes and there is no reason we shouldn’t. Many states are completely ignored during electronics because they aren’t swing states, from some of the most populous states like Cali and Texas to states like North Dakota. Entire campaigns are run in swing states like Pennsylvania and Ohio. This is wrong. Don’t even get started on gerrymandering. A Republican’s vote should count in California and a Democrat’s vote should count in North Dakota.

If people would stop thinking that the President has more impact to them than their District Representative, the EC would be much more viable. You can’t blame the system for the idiocy of its voters. The president really only exists so that the general public has a focal point for its ire.

Or at least divide the electoral votes by the respective congressional districts rather than a state as a whole, probably the most logical thing to do.

Interesting the strong divide in the Democratic party. Baby Boomers vs Mileanneals, they can’t get out of their own damn way, which is nice to see.

Well the fact that she has an equal right to vote is sort of the whole point of the American concept, bud.

And if you own slaves who don’t pay taxes you should get 3/5ths of their “vote” too right?

Honestly, there’s no reason this should be down-voted. He’s spot on and it is shocking that you guys aren’t grasping that concept. Welcome to democracy fellas

The idea of meeting an educational requirement to be able to vote is sounding reasonable these days. Voting really should be a privilege, not a right. More value would come of it if a person earned the right to vote.

I’m sure you make enough life choices that would be deemed questionable as well.
Also, welcome to America. Where it is her right to do that and it is your right to do what you want. It’s called freedom.

Wrong. When I make mistakes, I pay for them. When a woman with four kids makes a lifetime of bad choices, we (literally) all pay for them, because #WarOnWomen, or something.

        Now get the fuck outtahere.

It frightens me that the current republican polling leader’s idea of foreign policy is to build a giant wall that’s 1,989 miles long. But hey, he’s got a TV show and a lot of money so fuck me right.

I think I might be a better president than any of the legitimate candidates on either side in this election. And I’m a 20 year old who may or may not be an alcoholic with an STD or two. Thank the good Lord or god of corn or whatever the hell is out there for the checks and balances system.

And ” socialist” programs like public schooling, public roads, fire departments, social security, and the military are all part of what this country is about. Fuck government “intervention” in our lives right?

Social security is fucked buddy. We’re never gonna see a dime of what is coming out of our paycheck right now.

With the exception of Social Security (a Ponzi scheme that would give Bernie Madoff a semi) and the military, all of the things you described happen at the local and state levels of government.

So yes, mother fuck a large, centralized federal government intervening in our private lives.

I’ll be straight boys: I support Sanders. Lap me all you like, that’s fine. I am interested in his fervor, tenacity, I approve of universal health care, and his paid college plans. HOWEVER, that does not mean I don’t find flaws. Namely in how to pay for all this shit. “Tax the rich.” I’m ok with this to an extent, but I also realize that people have a right to the money they earn, and I fear his plans will only further incentivize business leaders to move money and possibly jobs out of the country, as well as let colleges jack up the price of college even more since the government has guaranteed to pay it, as I learn from an Economics Ph.D that I physically train as a client. All that said, I put no stock in these videos. Yes these kids are fucking idiots. But you can find retards with conservative students too, like CNN has done many times with Trump supporters (although to be fair, it can be argued whether or not they are conservative.) Yes there’s going to be a lack of specificity from these students, but if a guy suddenly approaches you on a sidewalk and asks you to hammer out specific points on a nation-spanning health care plan that affects over 320 million people and will potentially cost billions if not trillions, you might be a little lacking in details too. So I can hear arguments both for and against Sanders, but pointing out the stupidity of his certainly more idiotic supporters is not a credible argument against him, as can be said for interviewing the stupid supporters of Clinton, Cruz, Rubio, or any other candidate.
    Just my two cents.

    1. JohnStamos

You have one sentence with 5 commas. You are just as stupid as any Bernie supporter. Furthermore, i have an economics degree (from Michigan compared to your shit school) and one thing they teach is that taxing the “evil one percent” at high rates does not increase government inflow. Especially when you lower taxes on the poor

10 years ago at 2:00 pm
      1. Pele of Anal

Well you didn’t capitalize your “I” so I’m assuming you’re just as stupid. In the grand scheme of things, if you are going to incorporate free health care and college, everyone is going to be taxed more.

10 years ago at 3:47 pm
      2. Zezima

Well you must not have learned anything because there is no consensus amongst economists on whether high or low taxes are better.

10 years ago at 4:30 pm
      3. davidfratersonIpresume

So Stamos what do you and your Michigan economics degree say to the 70+ economists that have come out in support of Sanders? Just curious.

So basically you’re for massively expensive entitlement programs but against paying for them. In the real world there’s this thing called “debt” and it gets bigger when you spend more money than you take in. Eventually you have to actually pay it back somehow.
