When Ronda Rousey got murdered by Holly Holm for his first ever defeat, Ronda was humiliated. In fact, in a recent interview with Ellen, she admitted that she even wanted to kill herself.
Okay. That’s a little dramatic, don’t we all agree here? Her beatdown was equivalent to Rory McIlroy blowing the Masters on Sunday in 2011. That kind of mind-fucking collapse can ruin anyone who’s ever played the game. I know if I had a four-shot lead heading into the final day, only to blow it, my psyche would be fried. Rory, however, just kept on being awesome and won four majors since, including the U.S. Open that same year.
How about we pump the brakes a little when you lose, Ronda? Maybe learn from the defeat, realize that you’re still in the limelight everywhere with your SI Swimsuit cover, starring in Entourage, etc., and get back on the saddle?.
Maybe it wouldn’t have been so humiliating if she wasn’t talking so much trash, claiming she could beat up Floyd even. The only defense against humiliation is humility.
