Suck It, PETA: Vegetarian Diets Found To Increase Risk Of Cancer
Anyone who has ever come into contact with a vegetarian knows that the first words out of their mouths are usually all that bullshit about how great their diet makes them feel. They regularly marginalize the meat eating culture by claiming that it is not only inhuman, but also just downright unhealthy. Much to the joy, and probably surprise, of most of us normal people who see nothing wrong with having a steak every now and then, the vegetarian diet is actually the one that is dangerously unhealthy to abide by.
From Telegraph:
“Those whose ancestry derives from vegetarians are more likely to carry genetics that more rapidly metabolize plant fatty acids,” said Tom Brenna, Professor of Human Nutrition at Cornell. “In such individuals, vegetable oils will be converted to the more pro-inflammatory arachidonic acid, increasing the risk for chronic inflammation that is implicated in the development of heart disease, and exacerbates cancer.”
Separate studies have also found that vegetarians are nearly 40% more likely to suffer from colorectal cancer than meat eaters, as well as that vegetarian diets also lead to decreased sperm counts in men – all things that seem pretty shitty to have to live with.
This begs the question: does anything good come out of being a vegetarian? As an outsider looking in, it seems to me that the only thing I gain from eating 10 bowls of spinach leaves a day is less sperm, some mutated genes, a higher risk of getting cancer of the ass, and heart disease. How lovely. I guess the vegetarian community will simply have to excuse the fact that I will continue to include copious amounts of red meat in my diet. My sincerest apologies..

9 years ago at 6:43 pmNot rocket science. Human beings are omnivores designed to consume both meat and plant products. We need a complete, balanced diet of both to maintain optimal health. Vegetarians and especially vegans are essentially science deniers.
9 years ago at 8:20 pmJust out of curiosity, who were the main momentary contributors to the studies you quoted? I myself enjoy a steak, and can never turn down a nice cut of salmon but I also understand that many studies can/are influenced by investors. In conclusion, EAT MORE STEAK AND DONT BE A PUSS
9 years ago at 2:44 amDon’t be mean to cancer guys. Cancer has feelings too
9 years ago at 11:07 amThis is because vegetarians still eat animal based products like milk, cheese, and other animal fats. People reading this will confuse vegetarians for vegans and they are different.
