Earlier today, we reported on the allegations of Ole Miss Sigma Chi ending their annual Derby Days philanthropy event by publicly humiliating girls by asking them some provocative questions. Sigma Chi is now releasing a statement on the incident.

While it was an unfortunate thing to occur, it’s good to see the guys coming forward and taking responsibility for their actions. In addition, they probably raised a good chunk of money towards a good cause.

Hopefully, this is the end of this saga and everyone at Ole Miss and Sigma Chi can move forward from this and onto bigger and better things.

I respect trying to make a wrong right. However, I don’t think the university or nationals will care until those brothers are removed. Someone always takes the fall.

Two idiots should take the fall here. Women and children in attendance. This wasn’t a chapter meeting or pledge lineup.

I’m inclined to agree. Regardless of whether or not the offense warrants expulsion, these two should consider bowing out for the sake of their brothers. Nationals may not recognize them after, but their chapter brothers still would.

For the record, when I say take the fall, I’m talking internally. The liberal media should be told to go pound salt. The leadership has apologized in person to the sororities and families. I’m inclined to think they’ll deal with their two brothers.

    Tl;dr:

“We fucked up, buuuuut let’s look at how bad thing are across the Greek system and attend workshops in an attempt to make what we did not so bad in the grand scheme of things. Sorry, sorry, sorry.”

As unfortunate as it is, this statement just put their entire fraternity in the crosshairs. The media will have someone’s head. Unfortunately for them, since they refused to place the blame on any of their brothers (RFM), this likely means that they will all be held accountable because they’ve now lost the ability to say they “handled these events internally” and the liberal media will be raising hell until they lose their charter. Sure do hate it for ’em.

Exactly what we just had to do with our chapter, it’s a shame someone has to take the fall for a mistake like this.

Probably will get lapped for this but how is the behavior exhibited by these guys any less acceptable than some commenters on this website that belittle and demean women on a regular basis?

For example, read the comments section on TFM’s “Are you a fuckboy” article. Kettle calling the pot black here, fellas. Hiding behind the Internet is a shitty thing to do.

Caveat: I realize that some of the people on this website are trolls / high schoolers.

Bad jokes on a satirical website are totally the same thing as lewd comments about previously-supportive women in front of children and families right? Come on man

If I’m being honest, their statement was poorly written and seems rather disingenuous.

Please younger gentlemen, tell me this is not how the new generation has taken up the Frantle. Our ability to pair with houses is sort of dependent upon the entire Panhellanic not wanting to have their former-Marine dads reign hell upon the unsuspecting. Apologize loud and often. 2 apples can ruin the bunch, sorry Sigmachis.

Do you think constantly trying so hard helps your muscular or cardiovascular endurance more?
