VIDEO: Massive Brawl Erupts At NYPD Versus FDNY Charity Football Game

In some shit right out of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a massive brawl broke out Sunday between the NYPD and FDNY during the poorly-named “Fun City Bowl” charity football game.

From NY Daily News:

In video shot on the field just after the cops’ 29-13 win over the firefighters, the teams are seen converging near the 50-yard line for what was supposed to be a traditional post-game handshake. But tempers flared as players got in each other’s faces.

Soon, bodies hit the turf as the amateur football players tugged at each other’s jerseys, resulting in some bloody faces, bruised knuckles and soaring testosterone levels.

Money from the fundraiser was to go to the NYPD’s Widows’ & Children’s Fund and the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation.

You know Jake Peralta just couldn’t resist pulling that one last power move, sending Whatever The Fuck Patton Oswalt’s Character Is Named over the edge and starting the fist fight.

The real NYPD and FDNY don’t get along so well either. Another brawl happened at a charity hockey game between the departments last year. I’d say maybe try baseball next time, but we all know what happens when you give police officers heavy clubs.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton later tweeted “Congrats to @FinestFootball for their 29-13 win over @FDNY. A great game played by all for a great cause.”
