Former Clemson Baseball Player Buried $2 Million Of Drug Money On His Family’s Farm
The feds siezed more than 2 million dollars from a former Clemson outfielder, including $1.7M in cash that he had buried in a bag on the family farm.
From NY Daily News:
Agents reportedly seized almost $2 million in cash and property from Bradley Lewis Felder — including a bag stuffed with $1.76 million in cash buried on his family’s farm in Bowman, S.C. — as the former college athlete and a friend pleaded guilty this Wednesday to federal drug charges.
Drug Enforcement Administration agents began investigating the pair and others in 2013 for importing and distributing high-grade marijuana and molly. During the investigation, agents reportedly intercepted about nine packages of molly, each containing a kilogram, and about $150,000 in cash from Felder.
Felder obviously figured he could make more money breaking bad than playing ball. It can be hard for mediocre players in baseball — not everyone makes it to the show.
Sounds like he was doing pretty well too before he obviously partnered up with a pirate. I get that it’s hard to keep your money in a bank when you’re slinging illegal drugs, but come on — burying cash underground? Just go buy a car wash or something. And for the love of Walt, don’t lead the police right to your stash! If you’re looking at 20 years, you sure as hell shouldn’t go down without your Zihuatanejo waiting for you when you get out.
