Trump Campaign Pays Tens Of Thousands To Fictional Advertising Company

I’ve been trying to watch Mad Men for something like two years now, and as great of a show as it is, the narrative is slow and just doesn’t inspire the binge-watching that one would do with other shows. It appears that some of the people on Donald Trump’s campaign have watched even less of it than me, and wouldn’t recognize the fictional ad company from the show. The campaign has made several payments labeled “web advertising” to a business called “Draper Sterling” in recent months.

From Uproxx:

According to Mediate, ThinkProgress editor Judd Legum discovered three payments of around $10,000 each to the fictional agency founded by Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and Roger Sterling (John Slattery) while digging through the White House hopeful’s latest campaign expense report

Over 30 grand to a fake advertising company. People are worried about what Trump would do with the budget if he was elected, but just imagine the possibilities with him at the helm. The United States could be dropping millions on Tony Stark’s weapons company or sending aid to the Prince of Nigeria. Don’t knock him too much, the good intentions are there.

This news is coming along right after reports that Donald Trump is not worth nearly as much as he has stated in the past, as well as sharply declining approval numbers. All in all, it’s been a nightmarish week for Trump, and does not bode well for the rest of his campaign.

I’m convinced Baybro should tie an anchor around his neck and toss it off the golden gate bridge.

The man can’t win this election. As horrible as Hillary is, he’s being viewed as a joke or worse. He’s also hardly a conservative. Johnson is far from a perfect candidate, but if you aren’t in a swing state I urge you to vote for him. A libertarian kick in the ass is about the only thing that could save the GOP right now. Even if you aren’t a libertarian leaning guy yourself, if you’re on here I doubt you want a future where Hillary Clinton is succeeded by someone even worse. And we’re on that track. Throw votes to Johnson. Wake some people up

Libertarianism is the future of the GOP if the party itself doesn’t just fall by the wayside in favor of the the Libertarian Party proper.
Johnson is the best candidate who will appear on every state’s ballot. No big government in the oceans and we like that just fine.

It’s a shame Kasich couldn’t get more buzz around him when he was in the race. He was easily the most moderate and sane out of the political sideshow circus of Rubio, Trump, Cruz, Carson, and Fiorina months ago.

You’re very right. Just look at his record on subsidies. The man is not a fan of free markets. The conservative doesn’t try to tear down big business, he just wants a level playing field. The liberal espouses equality while rigging the system with economic interventionism. Crony capitalism. Statism. Then they keep a nice servant voter class that’s dependent because the economy is performing, but not well enough to make change.

If you think liberals are the only thing wrong with this country… you’re looking at the problem with one eye shut.

Kasich said he wasn’t “a fan” of subsidies, but he would take federal block grants like medicaide expansion and ACA subsidies if offered because it brought back tax dollars to the state. That explanation seems completely fair to me, and if properly used (in the very short term) subsidies can offload pressure in certain markets a la Keynesian Economics. Obviously we should strive to have a free market, but let’s be rational about tax revenue flow back to the people and let’s also not kid ourselves and pretend we have a free market right now.

Kasich was more importantly the only Fraternity man in the primaries (others who withdrew include Rick Perry, Santorum, Graham)

I’m all for Gary Johnson, but you realize Hillary will 100% win this election right? Wish it wasn’t so.
