The Cleveland Indians Are Using A Lucky Charm From “Major League” To Help Them Win Games

Don’t look now, but the Cleveland Indians are sitting in first place of the AL Central almost halfway through the season. Led by former AL Cy-Young, and former high school teammate of mine, Corey Kluber, the Indians are just finding ways to win each day. It helps when you have a great pitching staff to go along with their lineup. It also helps when the lineup is getting some assists from the great Jobu.
For those unfamiliar with Jobu, he is the mystical figure that Pedro Cerrano used to help him hit the curveball in the movie Major League.
The Indians have set up Jobu’s shop in between Mike Napoli and Jason Kipnis’ lockers. However, they went with an interesting strategy early on. Kipnis told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that they originally gave Jobu airport vodka and that didn’t work, but once they switched to rum, things started clicking. Yeah, no wonder vodka didn’t work. It’s like you didn’t even watch the movie, guys. How can you have a shirt next to Jobu that says “It’s very bad to drink Jobu’s rum. Very bad.” and expect anything other than rum to work.
At least the Indians have remedied this problem so there is only one thing to do now.
Gotta believe with LeBron ending the Cleveland curse and Jobu in the clubhouse, the Indians are guaranteed to win it. Indians +1400 to win the pennant. All in..
