ETSU Student Arrested At Black Lives Matter Protest For Wearing A Gorilla Mask And Holding Bananas

East Tennessee State University freshman Tristan Rettke was charged with civil rights intimidation after showing up to a Black Lives Matter campus protest wearing a gorilla mask carrying around rope and bananas. The 18-year-old Rettke stated that he wanted to “provoke the protestors.”

Rettke’s clearly having a hard time adjusting to a new school. It doesn’t appear that he has any friends, because otherwise he’d have someone tell him how moronic of an idea this was or he’d be too busy doing something like actually enjoying his college experience.

And I’ll just come out and say it: People should be allowed to be idiots and openly racist in this country, but with one caveat. The people you’re going out of your way to offend should then be able to kick the ever living shit out of you with no legal ramifications.

An arrest for civil right intimidation? The kid is reveling in the attention he was acting out for to begin with. But the potential consequence of a circle drill with a bunch of mammoth Omega Psi Phis and Tristan’s leaving his monkey mask and bananas at home, no questions asked.

Also, if he wanted to provoke protesters he did it the wrong way. All he had to was take of the mask and show he’s white and voila, provoked.

When will we finally classify the Black Lives Movement as a terrorist organization?

And yet the protester with the “Black lives matter. All lives don’t.” gets lauded? That’s hate speech. But I guess it’s like Orwell said, “All are equal, but some are more equal.”

In general, I would agree with you on BLM, but you should probably learn to read first. The sign had an equals sign with a slash through it meaning, “black lives matter ‘does not equal’ all lives don’t.” Moron.

Only if they were deep fried with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup drizzled on top.

I’m as anti-PC as one can get, but there is a line and this dude crossed it. But this is another problem with PC culture: when everything and anything is considered offensive, it lumps normal people together with actual racists.

These are the same people who are trying to throw white reporters into a fire and beating up anyone who challenges them that all lives matter.

The fact that they even got offended just confirms the obvious.

I understand collegiate ramifications. A police GTFO request, also understandable. Arrested, bullshit, no laws violated.
