4-Star Linebacker Recruit Announces His College Football Commitment With Great Halloween-Themed Video

We live in a world where National Signing Day exists and is used by high school football players to spin what should be their 1.8 seconds of relevance into their 15 minutes of fame. They’re jumping out of planes and starring in oddly gorey The Walking Dead spoofs and writing their decisions on their gooches and then sexting photos to Anthony Weiner while pretending to be 15-year-old girls and having the commitments come to light during the investigation of Weiner’s emails (I fully expect this one to come out some time within the next couple weeks), all in attempts to add drama into decisions that are completely meaningless until the letter of intent is signed. Remember that Penn State commit with the lame-as-shit private jet announcement vid? All it took for him to flip his commitment to Michigan was a little bit of time and whatever Jim Harbaugh does during those creep-ass sleepovers.

That’s why KJ Britt’s Halloween-themed commitment video is a refreshing change of pace.

Whereas most of these high school twerps make their commitments all about them, Britt made it about his high school, his friends, his family, and the schools that were gracious enough to offer him a scholarship. It’s not the funniest, most creative, most polarizing, or flashiest commitment video I’ve seen, but in that sense, it’s the best one I’ve seen. We need more KJ Britts and less dudes who will switch from Nittany Lion to Wolverine just because Jim Harbaugh is willing to slurp milk our of their Happy Valley in a race car bed..
