Dave Chappelle’s Anticipated SNL Monologue Closed With A Powerful Message
Comedian-actor-all-around-awesome-weird-guy Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time ever this weekend. It was kind of a big deal that he agreed to do it finally. There was even chatter that he may not show.
He did show, and he delivered a pretty awesome opening monologue. It was an 11-minute stand-up set that touched on the election, everyone’s favorite dead gorilla, and being rich. It ended with a powerful message about Donald Trump and our country moving forward.
I think we all expect, and hope, that there will be a big difference between Campaign Trump and President Trump..

8 years ago at 9:43 pmWhy are you here
8 years ago at 10:03 pmChappelle is a legend.
Also, most of the people that voted for Trump probably don’t want him to change too much while president, or else they wouldn’t have voted for him in the first place.
8 years ago at 11:12 pmWhat? Most people who voted for Trump did so because they are frustrated with the status quo. They want a political outsider to go into Washington and burn the place down. I personally hope he completely erases Obama’s legacy.
8 years ago at 11:29 pmI completely agree with you. Disagreeing with Dorno who said that people want President Trump to be different than Campaign Trump. I want to get the guy I voted for.
8 years ago at 12:08 amOh my bad. The confusion was probably caused by the fact that I never read Dorn’s shitty articles. I just watched the video and then went down to the comments.
8 years ago at 12:29 amWhy would you want the campaign Trump that alienated pretty much everyone but straight white dudes?
8 years ago at 12:48 pmYou’re such a fucking idiot I don’t know where to begin. Look at the recent 60 minute interview where Trump supported gay marriage. Go on youtube and listen to all the things he said he wanted to do to help the LGBTQ (Yes, they added a fucking Q on the end) community during the Republican National Convention. People like you are the reason the Dems lost the election. You think he is alienating everyone but straight white dudes because he wants to secure the boarders and prevent potential terrorists from entering the country. That’s what the fucking president should do.
8 years ago at 2:34 pmborders
8 years ago at 2:43 pmTrump won more Hispanics and blacks than Romney or McCain. Idiot. Also I’m a straight white male so sue me.
8 years ago at 3:01 pmIf I am to understand your argument correctly, you disagree that protestors should be assembling and exercising free speech while you are completely comfortable in electing a president who’s qualifications include burning Washington down? A bunch of dolts waving signs is probably less meaningful than electing one who harnessed the votes of people who believed that Obama was a Kenyan Muslim and that manufacturing jobs were lost solely through NAFTA and not automation.
8 years ago at 12:23 am1. They aren’t just protesting. They are blocking the roads and causing property damage.
8 years ago at 1:15 am2. Yes, we need to drain the swamp.
3. Obama is a Muslim from Kenya.
4. NAFTA has been completely fucking over the Rust Belt.
If liberals like Hillary Clinton and Dave Chappelle think Americans should give a Trump presidency a chance, why are there so many participation trophy crybabies still rioting in every major city? Why don’t they try listening for a change?
8 years ago at 11:48 pmThey are the same people who were giving trump shit for possibly not accepting the results of the election.
8 years ago at 9:35 amBecause that fuck Soros, and his “Democracy Alliance,” is spending hundreds of millions on anti-Trump activists, and for hire anarchists to make it seem like this is all grass roots and what the people want.
8 years ago at 12:07 pmIt’s called maturity.
8 years ago at 3:25 pmElections have consequences. GOP needs to ram it down their throats
8 years ago at 9:29 amI bet you like getting it rammed down your throat you fucking cuck.
8 years ago at 5:39 pmYou’re gay
8 years ago at 12:17 amIf you offered me choice to hand pick anyone I want for president or to have Chappelle come back for 3 new seasons of his show and 3 new stand up specials, I’d say I’ll see you in the live mutha fuckin’ studio audience for taping.
8 years ago at 9:52 amNo
8 years ago at 9:57 amYes.
8 years ago at 10:01 amIts great to have him back, hopefully no more Kevin Hart.
8 years ago at 1:11 pmHis Roosevelt story is an exaggeration. While there was always a stir about the relationship between Roosevelt and Washington, he was an advisor to Roosevelt and was invited back many more times.
8 years ago at 1:39 pmIt also would have helped if he’d said which Roosevelt it was. I’m willing to bet a good deal of people thought of FDR, not TR.
And that matters because the first 2 presidents to invite a black person to the White House were…Republicans.
8 years ago at 1:45 pmThe Republican Party was the liberal party back then
