Political Activist Colin Kaepernick Has Never Once Registered To Vote

If there was a function where you plotted on-field quarterback performance versus off-field media attention, your runaway champions scoring off the charts would be Tebow and Johnny Football. That’s obvious. But in the microcosm of the 2016 NFL season, nobody comes nearly as close to the media circus that is the Colin Kaepernick #Kneelgate.

I understand the protest: he’s fighting what he feels to be the oppression of the black community and he’s doing so non-violently. The best part about America is that the Constitution allows all of us the freedom to do something like this. There are war-torn nations on continents I can’t pronounce where they’d remove Kaep’s kneecaps with rusty scalpels for such a stunt.

I even understood why he wouldn’t exercise his right to vote during this past election. He didn’t like the candidates, so he doesn’t have to voice his opinion. Complaining about a candidate’s victory post-election without ever having voted doesn’t seem fair, though. And, rightfully so, Stephen A Smith let Kaepernick know he’s a buffoon.

As it turns out, Kaepernick may not have voted because he’s just lazy as fuck and has NEVER registered to vote.

From The Sacramento Bee:

Kaepernick, who was raised in Turlock, turned 18 in 2005, but he has not registered to vote in California at any point in the last decade, according to records maintained by the California Secretary of State. He also did not register in Nevada while he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, from 2006 to 2010, according to the Washoe County Registrar of Voters.

Attempts to reach Kaepnernick were unsuccessful. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Kaepernick said he did not care who won the 2016 election and it would have been “hypocritical of me to vote” for either President-elect Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I said from the beginning I was against oppression, I was against the system of oppression,” Kaepernick said. “I’m not going to show support for that system. And to me, the oppressor isn’t going to allow you to vote your way out of your oppression.”

Listen, I can’t blame the guy for never registering. He’s probably just trying to avoid jury duty. Registering to vote also takes time; I did it last month and it took me nearly five whole minutes. Kaep doesn’t have five minutes to waste. He’s got playbooks to memorize and a giant afro to braid. Time is money when you’re a mediocre quarterback, and Kaepernick is just trying to be the most economical with his time.

So do I care that he has never registered to vote? No. All I ask is that this upcoming Sunday when my Patriots take on Kaepernick and the Niners, that he throw like three balls directly to Devin McCourty. Otherwise, I’ll be outraged.

Thank you Boston for being a voice of the people. Oh and can someone please tell Steven A Smith to STFU already.

The best thing that could happen is that people stop giving this jackass press and let him fade back into irrelevance.

  3. Make a decision or it will be made for you. The system is imperfect, but I doubt you can come up with better in your vegan coffee shops.

That’s sweet man, good for him it’s just like all these protestors they’re not even relevant to the conversation anymore if you don’t vote your opinion on the election shouldn’t matter.

“Political Activist” is not the right phrase. “Stupid football player” would be the correct phrase.
