John Calipari Gets Rattled By Mizzou Student Section, Walks Away Mid-Interview

What a trash year for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Not only is his No. 11 Kentucky squad 23-5, which I’m pretty sure is their worst record since the Great Depression, but they barely slipped past a lowly Missouri Tigers team on Tuesday night. My Tigers, need I remind you, are not very good at playing with the round ball and the Wildcats only managed to lead by a point at halftime. Naturally, the Mizzou student section let ol’ Cal have it.

Hot damn. I need to go shower all the awkwardness of that interview off of me. Either he didn’t know a second question was upcoming or he felt highly uncomfortable in front of the Missouri student section. To be fair, it was a packed house Tuesday night. More than 10,000 people showed up to Mizzou Arena which, to watch the current product being trotted out there right now, is about 9,999 more than usual.

More than likely, one particularly dedicated and rowdy group of basketball fans, The Antlers, are responsible for the chant. The Antlers are the genital herpes of visiting basketball teams. Try and try and try but they won’t go away. The Antlers are a dedicated fan base that will drive side-by-side on the highway going 20 miles per hour to slow the visiting team’s bus or pull the fire alarm at 2 a.m. at the visiting team’s hotel. Whatever it takes to get an advantage.

Calipari picked up a technical foul in the second half. Still, he didn’t seem too concerned with the whole ordeal after the game.

Just take your National Championships and GTFO, John. Nobody needs your attitude..
