Spring training is the best, man. Not only do you get your first glimpse at 19-year-old rookies that will one day be hazed when they finally make the majors, but so much good pranking goes on with established players, too. Case and point: Leonys Martin.

It’s the 29-year-old outfielder’s birthday on Monday so the team decided to get him a perfect present: A mariachi band to follow him around all day. And when I say “follow him around,” I mean follow. him. around.

Dad? Oh. Nevermind.

Martin’s sombrero is a nice touch on top of the whole thing. That is some good pranking until a liner off the bat of Robinson Cano pops one in the jejunum, causing internal bleeding and the guy dies and we spiral into an international conflict with Cuba again. But hey, what are the odds of that happening? Probably pretty good, actually.

Also, if Kyle Seager wasn’t your favorite Mariner, he is now:

Nicely done, Kyle. You just earned yourself a bump up to the fourth round in my fantasy league because of your off-the-field intangibles.

Mi corazon es en fuego.

Most underrated prank/story ever is Ken Griffey Jr losing a bet to Lou Pinella, that he had to buy him a steak dinner, and honoring the bet by getting a live cow and leaving it in Pinella’s office.

Just unfathomable damage to his psyche… That entire organization should be banned and all other organizations publicly shamed

I’d bet some sad little SJW found that offensive and tried to demand it be stopped to ruin all the fun as the liberal fruit cakes love to do.
