Attention, drug users in the Oxford area, do not do the cocaine there, or at least for a little bit. It has gone bad.

People are dying in Oxford, OH, because of an apparent bad batch of cocaine that’s been circulating. It’s not being reported in the news yet, but according to a tipster, the batch was laced with fentanyl. We cannot confirm this.

The tip we received:

A bad batch of cocaine laced with fentanyl is being dispersed in Oxford, Ohio around Miami University. Has killed multiple people.

I’m a drug-free American so I didn’t know what fentanyl was, so I Googled it. Turns out it’s an opioid that’s 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, can be very harmful to your respiratory system, is very dangerous when mixed with other substances, and can cause death when taken in high doses. Sounds like some stuff you don’t want in your cocaine.

From the Journal-News:

Police in Oxford are warning residents about a possible dangerous batch of cocaine after two people in their 20s were found dead on Saturday.

The persons who died were not students at Miami University and their causes of death will not be known for several weeks, according to a release from Oxford police.

Officers first responded to the 300 block of West Vine Street where a 24-year-old woman was found deceased. While police and the coroner’s office conducted an on-scene investigation, officers were dispatched to Main and Chestnut streets where a 23-year-old man was found deceased, according to the release.

Results from toxicology tests will determine their causes of death, but cocaine use is suspected in both cases and it’s possible there is a “particularly dangerous batch out there right now,” according to the release.

The two people who died from the bad cocaine are William Benjamen Vollmer, 23, and Megan E. Dawson, 24. They were not students of Miami University.

This is a public service announcement more than anything. Stay away from the coke there. Don’t do drugs at all, but especially now.

The term Public Ivy comes from a book in 1980s about various public schools that generate an education similar to an Ivy League. The author names many different universities to the list. It’s not a term that Miami gave itself.

Mister Sinatra, you are hereby fully pardoned for any crimes you committed with the mafia.

And here’s a possible bad commenter of the week. Although he’s not the worst by far.

If narcotics were legalized, taxed, and regulated this shit wouldn’t happen.

Unrelated but it also ends the drug war. We saw the same shit that going on now with the mafia during prohibition. By making drugs illegal you create a black market, and you can take it away, and make them a whole lot safer in the process by legalizing them. Plus we could make a fuck ton of money. It makes zero sense to keep them illegal. The war on drugs is a waste of time and money.

Can confirm: work in hospitals in the area. Have to factor coke laced with shit people don’t know about into the quarterly budget for cancelled surgeries.

Fentanyl is just one of those drugs that makes me ask why it was even created, like there is little to no use for something that powerful

Unfortunately people with addictions can’t help themselves and they always have to find a higher high. It’s a terrible situation.

Our medics had fentanyl lollipops for whenever someone got fucked up while I was deployed. I saw a kid who had just had his foot peeled off by a landmine go from screaming in pain to a zombie as soon as he got a lollipop. Shit is nothing to fuck around with.

The other one is called carfentanyl. It’s an animal tranquilizer. Take your salt shaker and dump it out on the table. Then separate one small cube of salt from the mess you just made. That is the amount of that drug being put in to heroin and other narcotics. That is a large enough amount to kill a grown man. It’s no joke, and it can be absorbed through the pores of your skin. It’s real bad.
