There’s A Deep-Dive Documentary About A Rogue UCF Fraternity On Netflix Right Now

Since America won our independence in 1776, we have been making steadfast efforts to prove that we are better than our former British rulers in every possible sense. While Brits eat baked beans for breakfast, we have Frosted Flakes. While Brits have soccer rivalries, we have SEC rivalries. But most importantly, while British undergrads stick to drinking disgusting lagers in grimy underground pubs, we have the gift of fraternity houses.

And you better believe the Brits took notice of that last one. It’s why the BBC shot a documentary about the beautiful disaster that is American Greek life that has since made its way to the ‘flix.

From The Daily City:

The 2016 BBC documentary This World: Frat Boys is now streaming on Netflix. Viewers are invited to “follow along” as UCF students try to join what Gerard O’Donovan calls a “bizarre American social construct” – the fraternity. It focuses on one Orlando fraternity: an unofficial unsanctioned off-campus UCF one called the Gazoni Family (Facebook). It’s a former UCF chapter of the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha. UCF made it an unregistered student organization in 2015. The group rebranded themselves and continued with the financial help of former members. The fraternity’s house is located off campus.

Although the name “Gazoni Family” sounds like a fictional mob family in a ’70s crime drama, you have to congratulate these men on finally making it to the big leagues. We’ve all been part of a drunken shouting match among brothers regarding how our chapter needs a documentary examining its incessant fuckery, and the brothers of the Gazoni Family can finally put those days behind them. I am now patiently awaiting the influx of British transfer students looking to rush next fall after viewing this documentary.

Gazoni lost their house at the beginning of the semester to ΑΕΠ, and have to pair with other dying fraternities at Tailgate to stay relevant, also since they have nowhere to recruit they stand outside bars grilling every night to recruit and have the goober squad telling everyone how great it is to not affiliate with the school when they can’t do shit with any of the sororities because they aren’t IFC anymore. A dying breed but hey they’re hangin on right now.

LMAO I know the guy in the beginning that’s driving the car, and he is literally the worst human being I have ever known. Ben Furtado, what a major douchebag.
