Archeologists Discover Eighth Wonder Of The Ancient World In Egyptian Brewery
Archeologists never know what they are going to find when they go on their next dig. One day they’re uncovering important artifacts from ancient alien civilizations that built the pyramids and the next they get a big ol’ pile of dirt so they run out the 3D printed fossils that they claim belong to dinosaurs that once (allegedly) roamed the earth. I’m on to you assholes. But then there are those rare instances where they discover vital information for our past. This is one of those times.
From The Independent:
Excavation of an ancient Egyptian site has found evidence of beer and bread-making in a newly discovered building complex.
The city of Tell Edfu, located around 400 miles south of Cairo in the Nile Valley, has been explored by archaeologists for the past 16 years.
At the end of 2017, researchers from the University of Chicago found a complex of buildings that marked the earliest point of the town’s occupation.
They dated from around 2400 BCE – the so-called “Old Kingdom” period of ancient Egypt, when the great pyramids were built.
2400 B.C. and still we had our priorities straight as a human race. Sure, 400 miles north they were building some giant triangles out of the sand with extraterrestrial lifeforms, but honestly what good are those hunks of junk? Now an OG brewery on the other hand? That’s a real wonder of the ancient world.
Officials are hoping to find more information about what went on at Tell Edfu. Maybe there is evidence of ancient games of pong played with pebbles or perhaps they dig up some sort of primal beer funnel. Regardless of what they actually find, I finally feel connected to those that came before us..
