SMU PIKE Suspended For Hazing New Members With Hot Sauce, Onion, Eggs And Milk

Southern Methodist University’s PIKE is out for a minimum of four and a half years after being suspended on Monday for hazing violations.

From SMU’s Daily Campus:

The university investigation uncovered a number of hazing offenses by the fraternity.

Some instances, according to the email, include “forcing new members to consume onions, hot sauce, eggs and milk” and “requiring or encouraging” new members to drink alcohol.

The hazing offenses appear similar to those committed by the SMU Kappa Alpha Order chapter, which was suspended in the fall.

The fraternity also participated in “The Gauntlomeletsoze-hazing ritual explicitly prohibited in the organization’s current accountability agreement.

“The Gauntlet” sounds badass. Can I play?!

I see nothing wrong with forcing members to consume a well-balanced breakfast. To me, it sounds like they made all the pledges omelettes with a side of Bailey’s Irish Coffee. They’re a top house because they eat the most important meal of the day and then grind in the weight room and sometimes that classroom. Everyone else is just bitch ass haters and this investigation is a full-fledged witch hunt.

The full listings of reasons why PIKE was kicked off honestly comes off as pretty weak. Other instances listed by the outlet include police being called to assist an off-campus party and police smelling marijuana at another off-campus event. What kind of hot sauce they chugging over there, weak sauce?! The kids could’ve been smoking to treat their glaucoma. Geez.

The most interesting by far is the allegation the fraternity used “underground” membership tactics. My mind is running wild with what all this could mean. Did they not report the proper names or amount of members they initiated? Did they use questionable tactics to rush kids? Or were they an FBI safe harbor for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s illegal Mexican immigrants? Makes you wonder….
