Mike Posner Finally Reconnected With The Guy Who Gave Him A Pill In Ibiza

Shame on you if you didn’t just sing that in your head as you read it. It’s a timeless lyric to what has become an absolute club favorite. Maybe I’m behind the times, but I always took the lyric as an implication that Avicii gave Mike Posner a pill and was like, “You’re a total lame if you don’t pop this.”

As it turns out, however, it was actually a complete stranger who was divvying out the party favors at an Avicii show. A complete stranger who Posner never saw again, like a wild summer fling. But finally, after years apart, the two have reconnected thanks to the power of the Twittersphere.

Who is this guy? What is his story? Why does he shorten his name to just Bren? That’s a wild move. It doesn’t make sense to me how it could take him this long to come forward. He said this:

But I don’t believe him. Could it be that he is just now coming down off of a couple year molly bender? Maybe he just thought nobody would ever believe him? Regardless, if I were him, I would be pining for a royalty check. Toss a little bit of that chart-topping moolah this way, Mike.

Better late than never, though. At least now he has these tweets as evidence of his tale. Armed with that kind of ammo, there’s no chance he doesn’t get free drinks (and pills) next time he’s out. He should consider himself lucky, too; most people who find themselves that close to a celebrity and then try giving them an unspecified drug would get hauled off by some men in suits. But I’m glad he had the courage, because we got one vibey song out of it.
