Donald Trump Roots For Both The Yankees AND Mets

America’s pastime is back in full swing like a bald eagle mounting himself on a Canadian pitcher.

Growing up in New York, everyone always asks “Yankees or Mets?” The correct answer, of course, is Yankees, and I’ll defend that with my dying breath. You couldn’t pay me to be seen at that crosstown dump known that CitiField. But if there’s one thing Yankee and Mets fans can agree on, it’s that the worst type of person is the person who roots for both.

Apparently, our own president is one of those poor souls who can’t make up his fucking mind.

“But I think both teams, because I know even the players, OK, in a lot of cases, because I’m a baseball fan and I like both teams. Randy (Levine) is so great, Wilpons are good people. So don’t put me in that position,” Trump said.

“You really do, you’re going to have two exciting teams and I want them both to do well,” Trump continued.

Come on, Donny. It’s shit like this that gives me trust issues. I don’t think I can trust our nation’s nuclear launch codes with someone who can’t pick a side in the Subway Series. You can only choose one. You were elected as Commander in Chief to make tough decisions like this. Don’t flip-flop on a major issue like New York team loyalty.

There’s a widespread misconception that, in New York, people are fans are both teams for each sport and switch back and forth all willy nilly. They think we’re all like “Yankees doing bad? Root for the Mets! Giants suck? Root for the Jets!” As someone who’s lived their entire life near NYC, I can confirm that’s an urban myth.

Sports teams aren’t like wives and mistresses, Donny. You can’t have more than one. Just because the Yankees are your Melania, it doesn’t mean the Mets can be your Stormy Daniels..
