This Minor Leaguer Strutting Up To The Plate To Yodeling Walmart Kid Is As Intimidating As It Gets

The seats are empty, the atmosphere is dull, and players are really starting to question why they’re here. This is a minor league baseball game in the month of April. Sure, the $5 all-you-can-eat buffet has a few locals shuffling in and out of the stadium, but there’s an overwhelming sense of unimportance that can be crippling to the development of prospects and veterans alike.

However, there’s a light in this tunnel of darkness that the Carolina Mudcats (a Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) have provided. Sure, the seats are still empty but the environment is electric thanks to one player’s choice of walk-up song.

The Yodeling Walmart Kid is a meme that has captured the nation, but you don’t get any real street cred as an artist until you start getting endorsements. And there’s no better endorsement than a walk-up song. Are the Carolina Mudcats the pinnacle of professional baseball? No, but they’re a start. Pretty soon you’ll be hearing the echoes of this kid’s sweet melodic voice caroming off the walls of Yankees Stadium just before Giancarlo whiffs for a fifth straight at bat.

I just feel bad for the opposing team here. You see a guy strut up to the plate with that as his song and you know he means business. Heels on the warning track, boys. This guy is ready to go yard.

Shouts to the Yodeling Walmart kid for doing the impossible. He made class A minor league baseball exciting, and for that we thank him.

And, of course, I have to drop you all a link to this fire remix while I still can.

Says the person who commented twenty times each day, every day for a year. Thus earning himself the title, King of the Tryhard Goobers.

You’ve commented about the same amount. It’s just been spread across the 7 different accounts you have. I mean I get it if my parents didn’t give me any attention as a kid I’d probably look for internet strangers approval too.
