Stanford Sigma Chi Unjustly Forced To Allow Non-Members To Live In House After Being Barred From Recruitment

Apparently, we need to re-visit the Geneva Conventions as Stanford University’s punishment placed on Sigma Chi should be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Sigma Chi will be forced to welcome 15 to 20 non-members to live in the house after the university banned them from recruiting a spring pledge class following a party in January.

From Stanford Daily:

In the 2018-2019 school year, the Sigma Chi house will become a tier-three residence and allow non-members to live in its Mayfield Avenue house. The change follows the conclusion of an investigation by Sigma Chi International during which the fraternity was barred from participating in spring recruitment, leaving them without a 2018 pledge class.

A private event posted on Facebook labeled “Pre-Assign Sigma Chi Open House” states that “Sigma Chi is now a ‘co-op’” and next year will be a co-ed house where both fraternity brothers and other Stanford students will reside.

I can feel the physical sadness of the person writing that Facebook post. It’s heavy. It’s haunting. It’s emasculating.

Stanford’s bar on Sigma Chi recruiting comes after at least 10 of Sigma Chi, Pi Beta Phi and the men’s rowing team said they were drugged by a “non-Stanford affiliate” on January 12. Somehow, a rogue drugging translates into a harsh punishment for Sig Chi, leaving the fraternity with about 24 members in a 44-member house. While that’d be a blast for those living in the house, even an art major could tell you not filling 20 spots leaves a lot of money on the table. The same art major would also likely tell you that money is fictional state of mind created by the affluent aristocrats and to “hit this blunt, man.”

For being a school filled with smart people, this is a pretty dumb punishment to levy on the fraternity. The day will come for the university officials who made this poor decision to answer for their war crimes, but today is not the day.

If you had said *REMAINS A BROKE VIRGIN* that probably would have been more accurate.

That’s not really what happened at all?? Nationals barred them from recruiting a new pledge class so they can’t fill 20 rooms in their house. Their housing corp is behind 20 non-members in the house otherwise they’d lose a shit ton of money. Stanford had nothing to do with this – the only thing this school will punish frats for is lack of political correctness.

And by god I’m gonna create an account just to correct this egregiously incorrect effort of investigative journalism!! Or should I say… journalism??

I would usually feel bad, but considering about 80% it their brothers didn’t bother showing up to the investigation interviews, they had it coming. They’re lucky to even have a charter with that kind of bullshit happening.

Sigma Chi Fraternities could get away with murder if they wanted to and just get put on probation, not even double secret probation.
