Watch A Mizzou Grad Plow His Volkswagen Passat Into Mizzou Arena, Causing $100K Worth Of Damage

It’s been about a year since a recent Mizzou graduate decided to tear through a gate, then a garage door, then past a few golf carts before finding himself on Mizzou’s basketball court for a joyride in his Volkswagen Passat. Now, thankfully, there’s video of the incident.

I’ll be honest: that Passat held up way better than expected. About 1000x better than expected. I figured they just kind of burst into flames when a leaf blows onto them too hard. Kudos to you, Germany.

There’s something about him casually walking shirtless, backwards cap, and shoes in hand — as if he didn’t just plow a Passat into a college’s basketball arena — that I find very amusing. Unluckily for this guy, his blasé attitude probably won’t fool anyone; there aren’t really any takesies backsies when your car is chillin’ on the free-throw line.

“Me? No. That’s not my car. I was driving it for a friend. I don’t even know how that got there.”

That might work for your run-of-the-mill coke bust, but you’d need the finest lawyer in the land for that to work here.

The incident caused $100K worth of damage. You know how many Passats that can buy you? At least 10. That amount of change should also take a nice chunk out of pretty much anyone’s student loan repayment plan.

This guy essentially spent $100K on 15 seconds of joyriding onto a basketball court for pretty much nobody to see, and I have two things to say about that:

1) There are better ways to spend $100K.

2) If you’re going to do something that comes with a high risk of monetary loss, at least make sure you have an audience..
