If I lived during Nam you can be sure as shit I’d be doing the actual FIGHTING, not joining the do-nothing guard to avoid combat. I stand by my previous comment, definitely NF.

So you would never talk shit about Obama or Jimmy Carter? You’re in denial. I don’t know about your’s, but my frat values service to this country. Joining the military (the real kind, where you’re actually put in combat zones) during wartime should be an obligation for all true patriots. There’s no higher form of it, even towering over the honor of being commander in chief.

    7. George Haze W. Bush

Well you didn’t sound like an idiot saying that it should be made mandatory to serve in combat. 1) This is a free country and the fact the we have the choice to serve or not is amazing. (I am not saying anything about people who are in the service.) 2) Obama took our national debt from $8tril to $14tril in two years so yea I’ll talk shit about him. Jimmy Carter caused gas shortages so once again yes I will talk shit about him. 3) George H.W. Bush was a Naval Aviator and a War hero, So was John McCain. Just because your not in combat does not mean anything. If it wasn’t for the air my great grandpa and great uncle would not have been able to storm the beaches of Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal. Finally you fought in Nam which was nothing compared to Korea, 2, 1, Span-Am, or in fact any real war. So do not sit there and talk about how you were in combat zones, because my uncle was in Nam and he was 1st Marine Division and said the combat was lame. So take your liberal, protesting, GDI ass off this website and go to a conspiracy blog. Good Day.

      The Frat Hatter-

Talking shit about Obama is different….he is the anti-christ, and a liberal piece shit of GDI. I completely agree with serving our country no matter who is in power. Frat values should go beyond this period in which our country had a lapse of judgement in voting Obama into power. BUT that does not mean we have to sit around quietly with our southern filters on sipping our bourbon.

However, talking poorly about W is another matter in itself. No southern gentleman in his right mind should ever question W. Thank you for serving our country but bless your heart for making that comment.

you kids talking about the national debt. It’s unfortunate that taxes will rise due to Obama’s shitforbrains plans. However, study the multiplier effect, and you’ll see that life will go on with Obama as President. All we have to do is explain to the liberals that the clothes on their backs can be attributed to the strength of capitalism at it’s finest.

George haze bush your a fucking idiot. The Vietnam war was the bloodiest war in Americas history so far. Some veterans are still affected by it emotionally or physically. 1830 I do believe the Civil War.. you know the one when the northern states fought the southern states.. is still the bloodiest war in American history. Something like 600,000 Americans died, more than any other American war combined.

I’d never enlist today. You know why? A stupid GDI named Obama is YOUR commander and chief.

Thank you for your service, but there will never be another world war between the super powers because of our economic interconnection. Therefore, the wars of the future will be fought on an economic front. I’ll be protecting America from a board room. W got us through 9/11, FaF in my book.

Also, last time I checked the enemy we’re fighting killed over 3,000 Americans one day in September a while back. The first guarantor of freedom is and always will be the American soldier with an m16 at the ready. But yeah, thanks so much for taking a cushy seat in the board room.

I’ll bite. For the record I took the Oath of enlistment so I do have a vested interest in this.

Yes, Bush did join the ANG…however he did it as a fighter pilot. Is it different than being a grunt? Hell yeah, but flying fighter jets isn’t safe either. Ask the family of Capt Haney, a fighter pilot who tragically died in training last week. If you take W at his word, which I do, he tried to volunteer for flying in Vietnam but was denied the request. Did he sacrifice as much as say, John McCain? No. But he did a lot more than he had to. He could have just as easily landed an admin job or something equally as cushy but he didn’t.

      YMMV

The Frat Hatter you really need to calm down. There will not be another war, thanks to liberals who sent our jobs over seas. They have globalized the economy and no country will destroy their economy to fight a war. Especially since you can not fight a war with no money. I respect all of our soldiers but honestly soon wars will be fought from a chair not a rifle.

If you think wars will be found in a board room you are a moron. To many countries with nothing to lose like north Korea have WMDs. Were allies with south Korea and have 28,000 troops stationed there. If things go to shit there we will have to help south Korea, no doubt

As the population on earth multiplies the war for food and WATER will begin. I’m not saying military service is for everyone, but you will not be saving America from a board room. Ever.

      Okay Mr. 1830, three things:
      1. Grammar…
      2. North Korea is obviously a communist state that doesn’t trade with the US. So yes, the US could potentially enter with North Korea. (I personally don’t think because Obama is too busy blaming Republicans for his faults and riding unicorns singing about change.) I think it would a brutal attack on Kim Jong-Il’s part to start that.
      3. What everyone is saying you can’t seem to get is that globalization has interlocked our economy within the global economy. I honestly don’t see another world war with the super powers due to globalization.

i love w as much as the next guy, but every time i say so i have to do my best to forget about him dodging the draft. you can’t really argue that he didn’t, and that’s as gdi as it gets even if the rest of his life is faf. put me in heaven with a man who grew up poor and gave his life for america and a man who was born with the silver spoon, joined a fraternity and died old and comfortable and i know whose hand i’m shaking first. if that means this website isn’t for me…well, so be it.

I respect the soldiers more then anyone. But I agree with vanDKE, there won’t be another war where ground troops win it. It will be pilots and engineers and scientists making better weapon technology. I’m not going into the military due to health, but I damn well will contribute to the cause by making better technology to kill terrorists.
And even if W wasn’t in the hot and heavy of it, he was commander in chief and picked a fight with the entire middle east and is responsible for killing more terrorists then anyone so take a step back before you call him out on being NF and a coward.

FYI the term “soldier” only applies to the Army. If you’re trying to show support for the military as a whole, “troops” is the proper term. Not calling you out, just making sure you don’t make the same mistake since this was a damn good post. You’re very right and everyone needs to understand that the front lines are made possible due to many behind the scenes people. Who created those guns? Your war strategy? Who funded your uniforms? Your helmets? Who is there to nurse you back to health? To transport you? Guide you through training? No one military man is better than another. Each plays his part in protecting our country.

After serving 3 tours oversees, and looking at out future operations. The fronts will be in the horn of Africa. Yes, again that is a third world country that drives on unconventional warfare. Therefore, just like in Iraq and Afghanistan the war will be fought by the squad leaders, and the grunts on the ground. Not computers and bullshit, nothing is as good as real time eyes on the ground from the grunts that do it…your all wrong
