Yall dont have a pledgeship, instead yall have “new members” where at the end of formal rush (which is for all of the losers who didnt get a bid over the summer) your pledgeclass becomes members of the fraternity simply by accepting their bid. Again, how much does it take to get through to some of you? There’s two kinds of SigEp chapters. Traditional and Balanced Man. The former are like most of the rest of us and the latter are not. You can’t let some bad apples dominate your image of a fraternity. Doing so, is as just as bad as geeds who make ridiculous misrepresentations of our lives.
Yeah there are two types of chapters. Traditional you go through a pledge ship and your done, then you have balanced man chapter. Some chapters try and rush through it in a semester… yet the true balanced man program takes 2-3 semesters depending how quickly you go through sigma and phi and become a fully initiated member. Therefore bid = member but not initiated. So if a brother doesn’t meet the requirements for phi they stay a Sigma or a Phi therefore making the balanced man process superior to “most” traditional methods. V.D.BL est. 1901.
