Cigar City Maduro is some good stuff. So is just about everything made by the Boston Beer Company. Natty is gross, but I drink it anyway because my father indirectly buys it for me.

I do agree that for day/beach/binge drinking light beer is the way to go. Wont fill you up, never lets you down. I generally don’t go slumming to the point of Natty though. Bud/Miller light is similarly inexpensive. Also, I don’t think that you can equate obscure beer to good beer so easily. New Castle is good–but not obscure. Sweetwater is good–but not obscure. Drinking New Castle or Sweetwater is hardly hipster…
