Oh man that’s so insulting! No. I don’t see the love affair with him. He was not a good president, much less a hero. The only reason you all like him is because he was a spoiled child that lived the lifestyle that you all fantasize about.

He led America in the fight against terrorism. He guided us through one of the worst attacks on any country ever. And he led us to a new level of patriotism.

“he was a spoiled child that lived the lifestyle that you all fantasize about.” The most insulting thing you’ve said is that we fantasize his lifestyle. Too bad we live it you geed.

“And he led us to a new level of patriotism.”

I don’t think The Patriot Act is a “new level of patriotism”. W is a war criminal. Invading and occupying two sovereign nations who had nothing to do with the supposed “terrorist attacks” and in the process killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and bankrupting the country is nothing to be proud of.

“He led America in the fight against terrorism” Are you kidding me, Southern Tau?
Any president would have responded in some similar manner to the 9/11 attacks, so I don’t know why many of you think he is such a hero. In fact, Bush was warned weeks prior to 9/11 of potential terrorist attacks, yet he ignored them. Bush was on the right track with Afghanistan, but entering Iraq was complete bull shit. Iraq had no link to Al-Qaeda; only oil. And it was simply thought to have “weapons of mass destruction”, which was his means and justification for entering Iraq.
He left the economy in a shit hole. The national debt rose from $5.6 trillion to $11.3 trillion in his 8 years of presidency, greatly due to the Bush tax cuts and 8+ year war. America entered its worst recession since the Great Depression.
And let us not forget his response to Hurricane Katrina, where there was a complete lack of leadership on both the state and federal parts.

George Bush had the highest approval rate of any president in American History. He also had the lowest but that is for reasons that were out of his control. George Bush’s approval rating only went down because the economy collapsed which is the fault of the banks investing poorly and dumb geeds who took out loans they were too poor to pay back. The Clinton administration forced banks the lower thesis credit standards. This is where the housing crisis began. Proven fact.

Frat Ball, it is true “George Bush had the highest approval rate of any president in American History.” He did have a high approval rating but that was mostly during his first term in office. His second term is what changed the minds of many Americans. His approval rating was as high as up to 90%, and that was right after 9/11. For the next four months, his approval rating was between 80%-90%. From then on, his approval rating declined and he left the White House with a very low approval rating.
“George Bush’s approval rating only went down because the economy collapsed” My point exactly. Much of it was within his control.

Too bad for anyone arguing that Bush was such a bad person for everything “he” did. Maybe you should take a civics course and learn that things concerning the debt cannot be blamed on him. The only thing that blame can be given to him for are things concerning his title as Commander in Chief. Figure your shit out.

“The national debt rose from $5.6 trillion to $11.3 trillion in his 8 years of presidency”

Brilliant. The debt has risen more than $4 trillion just more than halfway through Obama’s first term. Much of this money was spent at least somewhat productively on defense, especially in a time when the war on terror was most heated.

“America entered its worst recession since the Great Depression.”

This recession had almost nothing, if anything, to do with Bush’s policies. The depression came largely as a result of the housing crisis brought on by incredibly risky financial products created by Wall Street firms and haphazard easy mortgage policies crafted by Democrats. Attributing the recession to Bush is simply incorrect.

Being an uninformed Democrat is NF.

Grappler, who the fuck do you think you are, every president will be criticized for something, W. did the best possible thing anyone could of done. If you didn’t enjoy your 7 years after september 11, 2001 without any terrorist attacks, move out of the damn country.

As someone who lived in NYC during 9/11, I didn’t feel very “guided”. I love Bush as a man, and I’d make him a sandwich any day, but you must admit that his presidency was frustrating, especially to those who suffered under it and didn’t really get much help (I’m referring to 9/11 and especially Katrina victims, who were largely ignored for a week after the storm). Come on, boys…supporting a gentleman who is FaF is fiiiine, but blindly getting all “he-can-do-no-wrong” all the time is unattractive and, frankly, kinda gayyyyy…. 😉

Even Time Magazine, a typically liberal publication, held Clinton more responsible for the recession than Bush. Clinton put policies in place that set whoever came after him up for failure. Bush also was not able to do what he needed to as much during his second term because of the mostly democratic congress. Bush is a great man, and was a great President.
