Senate just approved concealed handguns in university classrooms. Don't mess with Texas. TFM.

Be glad you don’t also have the liberal cities of Kansas City and STL voting.

Agreed. Now if and when there is a school shooting, the police won’t be able to distinguish the lunatic shooter and the hero(s) because of all the confusion. Also, this would just create a greater crossfire for potentially more people to be hurt and/or killed.

Identifying the lunatic will be easy. Just look for the mozambiqued GDI on the ground.

I’ve shot a .44 magnum all my life so I know I could hit my target with my .40 cal conceal and carry gun. Being from the city, not knowing how to shoot, and being scared of guns. NF. Shooting guns, killing deer every year since age twelve, and being from the country. TFM.

Students that want to shoot up a school are going to carry regardless of it being legal or not. Why not have a few students capable of handling their own in case something happens. I’d like to think if concealed carry was legal at VT when that happened, there would only be one person dead. The son of a bitch responsible for it all.

No I agree that students that want to shoot up a school are going to carry a gun in regardless or not. Obviously they weren’t considering the law there. So yeah. Having other students allowed to carry a gun could help stop the shooter and save lives instead of being helpless.

Look. This is Texas that we’re talking about. Damn near everyone here knows how to shoot a gun properly. And in order to be able to even apply for a CHL, you have to show proficiency with your handgun to a licensed instructor and take a gun safety course

You realize you have to have a license to carry a concealed weapon, right? Not many GDIs can pass that test or afford a concealable weapon. Access to guns is as easy as access to cocaine (especially in Texas), so the people who are going to shoot will find a gun on their own, regardless of laws

Agree with this on some levels, and disagree on others. There needs to be access to weapons on campus for the students, faculty and staff — a select group of qualified students who apply for the privilege and are found worthy.
Campus police can’t do everything, especially at small universities with small payrolls, so there needs to be some sort of back-up plan.
Conversely, I don’t think any S.O.B. with a set of hands ought to be able to carry, regardless of wether or not he’s allowed to in the eyes of the law outside of the school.
