My father's construction company built the road to riches. TFM.

  1. Broblesse Oblige

Construction is pretty damn tacky. Does he own Taco Bells too? How many Hummers do you own? Can your father read?

    1. Potty Putter

Bash on what builds America. NF. With that attitude I assume your dad was laid-off by a “construction company” and is now milking America for every cent it’s worth via unemployment. TFM Intern please blacklist this anti-american scum.

Broblesse, you are clueless. Graduate high school and successfully pledge a respectable fraternity before returning to this website, sport.

    3. Broblesse Oblige

Hahahaha, construction’s working out really well for America right now. It didn’t start a recession by its idiotic over-expansion or anything, leaving desolate ghost towns in once-prosperous regions of the country or anything.
Potty’s pretty bitter about being called out on his family’s intensely noble origins as professional monkeys with hammers. And no, we have never relied on or received unemployment money. In fact, we would like back what we gave your impoverished ancestors in the Depression. It’s past due.

Broblesse, you’re an idiot. Bob Perry, the number 1 Republican donor in the country, owns a construction company. Go fuck yourself

Nobody needs to get all hissy. Take out your tampons for a minute. All I’m saying is that people who do construction pretty much live like a scene from Talladega Nights. It was a hilarious movie, even if it was tacky, so take it as a win.
By the way, just to clarify, I’m from the South. You can leave your home state for school, you know. And there is an income difference between schools, a pretty big one. And investment banking makes a lot more money than your dad.

14 years ago at 4:47 pm
    6. Bro Magnon Man

to blame the recession as a whole on construction is eye-openingly ignorant. especially for someone who later mentions investment banking.

Dont trash one career for creatin the recession (especially when it didnt, predatory lending has little to do with construction companies themselves, and even that had little to do with the real gravity of the decline) and then later on praise another that also had an impact.

I’m sorry that I’m not as good with the computers as you are, buddy. Maybe you could teach me between your World of Warcraft sessions.

Davy Crockett fought Mexicans at the Alamo, way frattier than going to school up north. Also where’s my damn sandwhich?

I believe Broblesse when he says he goes to Princeton. After all, to get accepted one has to be a very fast typer to finish all those application essays, and by golly I think Broblesse has just broken the record previously held by the Piker for most comments on a TFM in 10 minutes.

Broblesse Oblige, back to the kitchen to fix my sandwich. I said turkey, not ham.

You real fraternity men out there (as in the Southern ones) know Broblesse Oblige is probably just upset that he’s never gotten anything posted on here, so he’s causing a scene to make himself feel better. Poor thing, it must be terrible to be from the North and not raised in God’s country.

There is substantial data showing that no matter what school you come from, your income is dependent on your grades. Being a top student at Ole Miss and being a top student at Harvard will have no difference on your income (well that’s not true because I personally know that more businessman hire from state schools before private ones). So you go to Princeton and spend an exorbitant amount of money for maybe a better education to make, if you do pass, the same amount of money as someone from a southern school actually having fun.

Princeton does not recognize Greek fraternities and sororities. Get the fuck off this site and get back to your eating club.

^THIS. I thought the stuff broblesse said was funny.. but can’t deny this comment.

I really hope income and grades aren’t that dependent because then going to a top ten engineering school would not be worth it. I would be happy with a 3.0

1520 on the (old) SAT and a 2.5 cum GPA from a state school. Still got a good job without using any of my Father’s connections. Suck it, Princeton.

i heard princeton totally has the best looking girls in the IVY league. So thats gotta put you in at least the top 150 in the country in that regard. and the weather… cant beat jersey when it comes to the great outdoors. also what a football team! and then when you factor in how much your fraternities must rage. Good times man.

Ever think people could get into your school but fucking choose not too? Or maybe you weren’t smart enough to think of that, champ.

Private construction companies don’t normally construct roads. It is usually done by a government funded public works department.

14 years ago at 10:24 pm
    1. Tycho Brohe

States generally privatize road construction. Private companies bid on jobs during a monthly “letting”. Once all the bids are in the lowest bid meeting specifications gets the job. But I don’t know about kentucky, must be socialized down there.

    2. judgebrobrown

^ this is correct. projects are funded through the state but bid on by contractors and executed by the individual contractor with his subcontractors and a few people from the state. in most cases, anyway

  3. CAptbap

Anyone on here who thinks owning a construction company is NF is a fucking idiot. Frat on! However being a general contractor does makes a lot more money and would explain your father hiring a sub contractor to pave roads.

14 years ago at 12:15 am
    1. KotLoH620

Again, no sub would construct a public road. That is taken care of by the government.

    2. ItJustComesFratural

I guess I see your need to prove people wrong, but give me a break. You’re arguing about whether or not his father’s company paved a metaphorical road. Keep in mind that if there was an actual road paved, it very well could have been a private road. This is also directed at you, KY Gentleman
