I hope you have a reason for your statement and you’re not being an ignorant fuck just bc you’re from the north.

lived in the north and now live in the south. Love the southern hospitality, food, and women. However, when I hear people ranting about how great the Confederacy was and that its part of their “heritage” it pisses me off. They tried to destroy the union that was and is America. I salute old glory , not the stars and bars.

None of these people from the North understand tradition. Some of our families landed in Virginia as early as 1607. Look up First Families of Virginia and you will find my last name. You guys have to understand that we are not saluting the Confederacy. We are saluting the bravery our ancestors showed when they fought for what they believed in. Fighting for your beliefs is FAF. Sorry, we’re not sorry that we come from strong traditions and customs.

Doubleshotmakers, I apologize that when you lived in the north you never learned about American history. Seceding from the union in no way shape or form could “destroy” the union, it just simply left it with less states that the central government could take taxes from.

Don’t even call it a “civil war” either. The true definition of a civil war is two or more sides fighting for control of a nation-state. The southern states just wanted to secede and not pay enormous amounts of taxes that were going towards building infrastructure in the north at the time. And don’t be a liberal and bring up slavery, a handful of northern states had them too.

Also, the majority of battles in the War of Northern Aggression were fought in the South. Therefore the South was not trying to “destroy” the union. Please don’t be that stereotypical northerner on this site. I know many great northerners, but you sir must have been educated at the same schools as the cast of Jersey Shore. You not knowing American history and being ignorantly biased is NF.

So what you’re saying is that we would see a Mr. Pilot in the settlers of Virginia? That’s awesome.

And the score is 1-0 to everybody else. and I agree with doubleshotmakers. Old Glory= America.

The whole world calls it a Civil War. A Civil War that was lost by the south.

southernbygodsgrace. The fact that you call it the war of northern aggression immediately shows you are uneducated. The first shots were fired by the SOUTH at fort Sumter. Also, by the south seceding it would have set a precedent for other forming parts of America (midwest, west) to remain independent. Not only would this have forever kept America weak and divided, foreign powers would have influenced us a lot more in our affairs. Not only are you yourself biased, you are also short sited. I brought up slavery because it was the one thing that was making your cotton based textiles hugely profitable. And a civil war is a war between factions and/or citizens from the same country. Try reading a book instead of burning them at your rallies.

“We feel that our cause is just and holy; we protest solemnly in the face of mankind that we desire peace at any sacrifice save that of honour and independence; we ask no conquest, no aggrandizement, no concession of any kind from the States with which we were lately confederated; all we ask is to be let alone; that those who never held power over us shall not now attempt our subjugation by arms.” President Jefferson Davis

Pilot’s right only the South understands tradition. There is no such thing in any of the North, since no one landed there before 1620. That was pretty much yesterday right Pilot?

      TO SouthernByGodsGrace:

If you knew anything about confederate history then you would know that the government in Richmond became more powerful than the government in Washington.

You would know that the confederacy was the first country IN THE WORLD to have an income tax.

You would know that pretty much everything the South fought to protect was lost during the war by their own devices.

      See this book. http://www.amazon.com/Confederacy-as-Revolutionary-Experience/dp/0872497801/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317764900&sr=8-1

Fact of that matter is that the South fought the war for s.lavery. Say what you want about “states rights” and all that, but we all know that most of you guys would still keep s.laves if you could. Yes, that wasn’t the only reason, but it was chief among them

Plus, only 1/10 of 1% of Southern Families lived on the large plantations that are stereotyped by movies, books etc. Most families had only up to 2 or 3 slaves, or none at all, and would work right beside them in the field. So Fratstar Runner, get your facts straight before you make faulty remarks.

14 years ago at 8:44 pm
    14. ^Not everyone in the South had s.laves, do you think hundreds or thousands of men would fight just for s.lavery? The South was relatively poor and s.laves were very expensive. The percentage of s.lave owners was very miniscule. My ancestors didn’t own s.laves but they fought hard and some paid the ultimate price fighting for what they thought was right.

People such as doubleshotmakers shouldnt be allowed on here. I live in the north (after moving for the south) and and proud to raise a confederate flag outside my house. Im moving back where it really matters.

Fratpublican_Reagan, there aren’t enough words in the english language- hell, the entire lexicon of languages the world over- to describe how incredibly wrong this is. Not only is it wrong in that it is ignorant, but in that it is so incredibly incorrect on a factual level. Holy fucking God, how stupid can a human being get? In my life I’ve encountered people who have been unintelligent, yes- I’ve encounted my share of people who suffered from mental disabilities. People with downs syndrome, autism, and so on. However, I have never once encountered someone so stupid as to be capable of thinking something so unbelievably off-base. I didn’t even think it possible that anyone in our plane of existence could ever even have the capacity for this level of idiocy.

Last time I checked, there are 50 states in the USA. It’s great to have some pride in your heritage, but saying fuck the north or south is straight-up disrespectful to your country. So North and South, straighten your collars, pull your shit together, and be the gentlemen you claim to be.
Now political party… that’s something we can argue about. Fuck liberals.

Quick analogy, use your brains for a second. What’s more satisfying than seeing your rival fraternity argue among themselves while you are destroying them in an intramural game? We already know that we are the best country in the world, have some unity, and dominate with class.

Hmm. Good to know. I’m sorry you feel threatened by someone having a minimal opportunity to have a halfway decent life. If you really are a better person, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Prove it, asshole. I’m all for everything frat, but racism is not one of them.

I don’t see your point, you just named a bunch of upstart brands that are trying to capitalize on an image that was created decades ago by Brooks/JPress/Andover Shop et al.

Don’t get started on life isn’t fair for everyone so let’s just cut them a break. That’s what is wrong with this country. And anyone who actually believes that is goddamn retarded. You work for what you want; it’s what this country was founded on. It’s called the American dream, not the African American handouts.
The north might make those clothes but we make them look good.

This picture isn’t saying “fuck the North” at all. I love my country and I realize that it takes both the North and South to make it. Brovandy, those who commented on his post, and doubleshotmakers need to loosen up and just accept the fact the South is awesome and this picture is FAF.
