Education majors might as well say "I'm just here for my MRS Degree." TFM.

As long as their mother’s passed on good genes, taught them how to cook, care for children, and do my laundry, they will be a prime candy for datable girls.

A girl should be able to cook, care for children, and do her man’s laundry without being an education major….but i qualify in all those areas!

True, but to be more specific, *Elementary Ed. Those are the over glorified baby sitters. Secondary Education majors actually go into a field that requires upper brain level functions. As apposed to just teaching other people’s mistakes how to color within the lines.

What If you’re me and are majoring in education to teach at the prep school that helped make me into the man I am today? The school that taught me the importance of brotherhood and prepared me not only academically for college, but for the social atmosphere as well. I mean hell, we wore a blue blazer and boat shoes every day. Not to mention that I’m enrolling in OCS as soon as I graduate, in preparation for Ranger training and eventually the Green Berets, sounds pretty MRS to me…

It’s cool you want to go into the army but you’re seriously trying to hard.

Fuck off. Obviously this post has nothing to do with him. Is he going to get his MRS degree? I would hope not.

Just because you’re going to go to OCS does not mean you will branch infantry, much less get a ranger slot. It sounds like you haven’t done very much research.

Colors, I could just enlist into the Ranger contract if I wanted, providing I pass the physical tests and score well on the asvab. Of course getting the officer position isn’t guaranteed, nothing worth having is. That’s why I want to do it. I’ve done plenty of research, including getting my father’s insight, he was 75th infantry before he went Green Beret.

OCS gets needs of the Army after USMA and ROTC draw. It’s mostly stuff like transportation, ordinance, and chem. Your chance of getting infantry is incredibly slim. Your chance of getting Ranger on a three year contract in a support branch is just as slim. By the way, surviving suck school doesn’t make you a ranger. It just means you have a high bullshit tolerance. Getting picked up from there to selection may be just a touch harder than winning the lottery. And passing selection, good luck with that. I wish you the best, but I would have taken Vandy over Bama before the odds you face. Little advice. Quit telling people what you’re gonna do and let your actions speak for themselves.

kvpolo, your recruiter lied to you big time. Ranger or Special Ops officers don’t just get OCS from the start, and military academies get first choice at Infantry slots. You might be an officer for artillery or MP if you’re lucky.

You’d be better off just enlisting, sure it’s shittier and pretty much re-pledging, but you pick your MOS. There’s too many butter-bars anyways with degrees in shit like Education. No offense to any officers, but starting enlisted made me a better officer now.

My old man went into the Navy with a BSBA, went through OCS, and ended up flying p-3’s tracking russian subs while carrying a payload that could fuck some serious shit up. So, stop ruining this kids spirit. kvpolo, go take a lap and then go to the library. It’s for your own good.
