Secede, for truly socialistic countries, all the countries that make up Scandinavia are doing quite well, they have very high standards of living. In fact, Norway and the Netherlands rank higher than the USA. In terms of pseudo-socialist countries, Canada and England with socialist healthcare are doing very well.
Reality check, just because they’re socialist doesn’t mean their country’s economy sucks ass.
Our GDP is huge compared to those small miniscule countries, our economy is tied with 99% of the nations around the world. When there is trouble around the world it effects our economy.
CandC, get the fuck off this site before I find you and kick some hippie ass. This site is for American leaders not douche bags wanting to discuss how a socialist nation would work for everyone. Motion to add an un-American button.
Socialism fails when there are more people living off the economy than contributing to it. Hence Greece, Latvia and Spain are all falling apart. It only seems to work in England because the Polish are over there working their asses off. If socialism is to exist, the country still needs to maintain a low unemployment rate and needs to be capitalistic to a high degree. That is why socialism would never succeed in America, there are too many losers who want “living wages” and to “erase world debt” that they don’t realize that Socialism only works if everyone contributes to the economy. Either way, Fuck Socialism.

14 years ago at 10:41 am^ Many would argue that GDP isn’t the only important factor when judging a country. In my opinion, standard of living is pretty damn important.
Your last statement isn’t really a good thing, and is a really good argument for not having so many trading partners.
