25 Years Ago Today Ronald Reagan Gave the Soviets His Most Famous F-U

Later former West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl said of Reagan, in regards to the speech, “He was a stroke of luck for the world, especially for Europe.” My only regret about this speech is that mic drops hadn’t yet been popularized. The wall was opened a little over two years later, and was eventually torn down completely, which led to another famous American appearance at the wall, one that was pretty much the exact opposite of the above Reagan speech.

But hey, it was the Germans’ party, not ours.
