Old-Timer Who Shot Internet Cafe Perps Will Not be Charged

In the wake of the tragic Colorado shooting from early this morning, I’ve been looking for some good information to report on. We now have a follow-up to the 71 year-old Florida man who abruptly halted the plan of two men trying to rob an internet cafe in Ocala. The incident occurred on July 13. Samuel Williams, the concealed handgun license-carrying good samaritan, sprung into action and plugged the perps with a couple rounds, forcing them out the door immediately. We have now learned Mr. Williams will not be charged.

The 71-year-old Florida man who fired his gun at two men trying to rob a crowded Internet café will not face criminal charges, an assistant state attorney general told FoxNews.com.

Great news, and great to see the American Justice system get it right. So, why did Williams feel the need to risk his life to stop the robbery?

Williams said in a post-incident interview, that he and his wife were at the cafe to play “sweepstakes,” Gladson’s memo said. He heard the commotion and, when given an opportunity, fired his weapon to protect his wife and other patrons, the memo stated.

Now, I don’t know what sweepstakes is, but anyone with grandparents knows that when they’re engaged in whichever hobby gets them going, albeit puzzles, TV game shows, or just napping, you let them ride it out and do their thing. They are simply not to be interrupted. When these perps are let back into society, I’m betting they do it with a newfound respect for old-timers and their valued time left.

    It’s a damn shame there were no CHL carriers in that theater in Colorado. What a sick individual to just start murdering strangers. All we can do is pray for those individuals, and remember to fight for our right to protect ourselves from people like this.

      There are some sick, fucked up individuals out there in our world. It’s sad to know that this is the type of society that we live in and that we have to always be wary of our surroundings, even in the most seemingly safe places. I mean what kind of sick fuck decides it would be fun to dress like Bane and go into a theatre and just massacre innocent people, including toddlers. It makes me sick. I hope that piece of shit dies a very slow and excrutiating death. My prayers go out to all the families of those lost and for a speedy recovery of those injured.

      I was thinking the same thing..how did nobody in the theatre have a CHL? Better believe if it that was in Texas he would’ve gotten a few to the chest before police showed up.

      Bunch of armchair quarterbacks up in here. Guy had an AK variant, bulletproof vest, multiple pistols, and you have a shit ton of tear gas in your eyes in a dark movie theater. A compact 9mm isn’t going to do shit, you have a higher chance of injuring/killing more innocents than taking the shooter down.

      The movie theater didn’t allow firearms at all, with or without a CHL. As someone who has a CHL and actively carries, I do agree that a compact 9mm or .40 wouldn’t have been ideal against an armored opponent especially in a dark theater with tear gas. But who is to say that someone returning fire wouldn’t have helped the situation. Hollow points may not penetrate the armor, but the impact will still knock someone off their feet. Also, its certainly better to have your weapon, which is your best chance for survival, than have the right to carry it denied to you. I hope they fry the bastard

      It was the midnight opening night for the Batman movie. Everybody in the theater were teenagers. That’s why nobody had a CHL.

      ^ In this case I’m actually against the death penalty. Lethal injection would be too quick and an easy out while he spends a few years isolated on death row. Sentence him to life without parole, best believe the convicts in a state penitentiary will take care of that fucker.
