A Map Of Each State’s Most Googled Athlete
Using Google search data, BestTickets.com put together the below map that shows the most popular–technically the most searched-for–athletes in each of the 50 states.
The first thing you’ll notice is that LeBron James is really, really popular. He’s the most searched-for athlete in 23 of the 50 states. Peyton comes in silver with seven states, followed by Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson, each with four. Andrew Wiggins (Kansas and Kentucky) and Johnny Manziel (Texas) are the only amateur athletes to appear on the map, although their amateur statuses are obviously about to change.
Look at Hawaii holding on strong to Manti Te’o. Real cute, Hawaii.
Here’s how the numbers shake out for the most Googled athletes, up to the tenth ranked spot:

11 years ago at 11:43 amBoston fans are like that one lower tier fraternity; always trying to self-rank to the top, but everyone knows they actually suck.
11 years ago at 1:12 pmHow are you the best if your guy is ranked number 10 on that list? New England logic here folks, rivals that of a 7 year old from West Virginia.
