This guy does a solid job of explaining the ideals of the republican party, but he’s missing the point. The republicans in office and the ones vying for the white house are all idiots that have allowed corporate greed and corruption become tied to our party. That’s what’s holding us back. We may not care being called the “Party of the 1%”, but that’s not going to get us the white house next year. Republican politicians have screwed themselves by alienating the party’s base of working-class Americans for their personal gain and we’ve paid the price over the past three years. If we had true conservative leaders, we wouldn’t be in this mess. All the guys on the GOP ticket are a bit of a stretch, but Ron Paul seems like he has the cleanest hands of the bunch. That might be what it takes to win back the White House in ’12.

During any debate when the topic of bailing out the banks comes up, almost every candidate blatantly blames the current administration in Washington. So they are really doing the opposite of “allowing corporate greed to be tied to our party.” Most candidates, including Jon Huntsman, advocate true free market capitalism which would have, without a doubt, let the few outrageously corrupt banks fail miserably.
