Aaron Rodgers Goes Greek

The Green Bay Packers earned a bye week during the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend. That’s what a 15-1 regular season record will earn you. And that’s what quarterback play by Aaron Rodgers will get you.

Bye weeks are great for resting the body after a long, grueling, physically demanding season. They’re useful for studying up on your next opponent and game-planning. They’re even nice to visit the family or catch some peaceful rest back home.

That is, unless, you are Aaron Rodgers. A. Rodge used his bye week to get initiated by the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin last Thursday, along with teammate Graham Harrell. Rodgers was loosely affiliated with the TKE chapter at California Berkeley during his college days, but Head Coach Jeff Tedford wouldn’t allow him to officially join. He wanted his players focused on football, and only football.

“But, but he didn’t even go through pledgeship. How can this happen?” Shut up. He won a Superbowl MVP. You don’t get to haze him.

Don’t look for Brother Rodgers to make your local rush party in the next few weeks, though. He has plans.

Here’s to you, A. Rodge. Frat on, sir.

Actually to all you guys TKE likes when you say “if you cant go greek go TKE.” The reason for that is because after WWII the returning soldiers who went back to college wanted to join fraternities…they were turned down by most fraternities because they were “too old” or “not from a prominent family.” TKE being the great fraternity it is saw these men as great American heros and outstanding individuals so we allowed them to join our ranks thus the term “if you can’t go greek go TKE” was coined. Honestly I don’t understand what all of the hate is for guys we are all in Greek life! We all went through a process (some harder than others) to prove ourselves as men. Not one fraternity is better than the other one due to size and numbers, but due to the characteristics that the brothers hold true. I am a Teke and im damn proud of it! You can hate all you want but it only makes us Tekes stronger…YITB fraters.

    1. The hate is because y’all tend to make the rest of us look bad. Thus, the disassociation between TKE and real fraternity men.

I think we can all say every fraternity in existence has had it’s ups and downs…out of curiosity though how do “we make the rest of you look bad?” My question is directed at Confrateracy.
