This West Point Military Graduate Is Going Viral For All The Right Reasons

A photo of newly-commissioned US Army officer Second Lieutenant Alix Schoelcher Idrache shedding a stream of righteous tears at his commencement ceremony has gone viral and for good reason. The guy is the literal embodiment of the American Dream: He was born in Haiti and earned his US citizenship by enlisting in the US Army, Maryland National Guard, and eventually attending West Point.

From the DC Gazette:

“At this moment,” Idrache said about the photo, “I was overwhelmed with emotions. Three things came to mind and led to those tears. The first is where I started. I am from Haiti and never did I imagine that such honor would be one day bestowed on me. The second is where I am. Men and women who preserved the very essence of the human condition stood in that position and took the same oath. …The third is my future. Shortly after I leave, I will report to Ft. Rucker to start flight school. Knowing that one day I will be a pilot is humbling beyond words. I could not help but be flooded with emotions knowing that I will be leading these men and women who are willing to give their all to preserve what we value as the American way of life. To me, that is the greatest honor. Once again, thank you.”

It’s really difficult hard to get into West Point. The school has a 9% acceptance rate, and you need a letter of recommendation from a US Congressman. On top of that, Idrache graduated in the top 5% of his class and qualified for flight school, which as my dad keeps reminding me, is a big damn deal. This morning, I was late to Bio because I couldn’t find my shoes.

Knowing that there are people like this protecting our country, who have struggled so much and overcome so many challenges, is absolutely staggering. I feel incredibly proud of our military, and simultaneously really inadequate. It almost makes me want to get off my ass and devote my life to something meaningful.

But there’s beer in the fridge. Congratulations, 2nd Lt. Idrache. Go kill some terrorists.

She walks, she talks, she’s full of chalk, the lacteal fluid extracted from the female of the bovine species is highly prolific to the nth degree.

    A couple things:
    1. I’d like all the SJW’s to hear this kid’s story. They need a safe space and this guy came to a country with (I’m assuming) not much. He worked his ass off in order to get into West Point and is serving a country he seems to love. They could all learn a thing or two from him.
    2. It shows how humble he is in the fact that he gives thanks for the opportunity to attend West Point and become a pilot. These are the type of people that make me proud to be an American.

Best of luck to Alix in pilot school and thank you for your service. Make it rain bombs on ISIS.

All those SJW and BLM clowns would somehow make it about themselves and say this was some victory for them rather than realize it literally invalidates all of their arguments.

God Bless America for people like this man and all the men and women who graduated from West Point.
