America Dominates The List Of Best Universities By Reputation

Forty-six out of 100 of the top universities on our planet are American–at least, if you’re going by reputation. According to a list put out by the Times Higher Education, America is really kicking ass and taking names in that department. Harvard, MIT, and Stanford took top honors, which should surprise no one. Together, those three schools could probably solve 90 percent of the world’s problems with enough funding and time.

The Brits managed to take a few of the top spots, but most of the top 20 reside here in the good ol’ USA. The top 20 on the list are overwhelmingly private institutions, but UCLA and UC Berkeley managed to grab spots on the list by being damn good at science and avoiding high profile international scandals and/or rioting. That said, some of the big state party schools like Michigan made the top 50, so maybe all work and no play isn’t the only way to get a reputation good enough for this list.

You can see the full list HERE. Japan and Germany made fairly strong showings, probably because they’re still trying to reclaim some kind of title from America after that beating we put on them in WWII.

America having almost half of the most reputable schools on the planet? Now that’s a fucking accomplishment. Step up your game, other nations of the world.

Of course we are. Even our president parties before football games (see Mary Sue’s halftime speech)
