Anheuser-Busch Plant Stops Beer Production To Provide Clean Water For Texas And Oklahoma Flood Victims
By now, I’m sure all of you have heard plenty about the massive flooding that people in parts of Texas and Oklahoma have recently experienced. It really has, for a lack of a better phrase, fucked everything up. Homes have been destroyed, infrastructure has been damaged, lives have been lost, and some people are completely cut off due to the high water level.
In addition to all that, the flooding has denied many people access to clean water. While many good organizations are out there trying to help as much as they can, there’s one that is, to say the least, very interesting.
An Anheuser-Busch plant in Cartersville, Georgia has halted the production of beer temporarily to can clean drinking water for those affected by the flood.
From 13 News Now:
Instead of making beer, they are canning water. It will be given to the Red Cross, who will then take it to Texas and Oklahoma.
Since this is just a temporary cessation of beer production, you shouldn’t have to worry about finding cases of your favorite beer on the shelves this weekend. A short break like this really shouldn’t affect the overall supply of beer available to the public.
Make all the “that beer is practically water already” jokes you want, but this is a classy move. Good on you, Anheuser-Busch. Respect..

The same plant did the same thing when Hurricane Katrina struck and the first shipment of water they sent was in bud light cans.

10 years ago at 1:09 pmReminds me of when they provided canned water during the flood of 93′ in Missouri, even though I wasn’t born yet.
10 years ago at 1:17 pmThey also can claim this as a charitable contribution and all of COGS (including labor) will be written off as an expense decreasing their tax liability. Not saying what they’re doing isn’t good but there’s definitely tax perks for helping out in ways like this.
10 years ago at 1:18 pmI wouldn’t trust water fish fuck in there.
10 years ago at 1:28 pmI’d better see people shotgunning that water.
10 years ago at 1:38 pmTime to celebrate my house getting fucked by shotgunning a water
10 years ago at 7:36 pmHeard a Natty Light plant is doing the same thing, only difference is they don’t have to change what they’re putting in their cans
10 years ago at 1:57 pmI think I speak for all of Oklahoma, we’d rather have the beer.
10 years ago at 2:45 pmThe liberals don’t need water here. They only survive by sucking air out of all the areas they infest
