Anheuser-Busch Plant Stops Beer Production To Provide Clean Water For Texas And Oklahoma Flood Victims

By now, I’m sure all of you have heard plenty about the massive flooding that people in parts of Texas and Oklahoma have recently experienced. It really has, for a lack of a better phrase, fucked everything up. Homes have been destroyed, infrastructure has been damaged, lives have been lost, and some people are completely cut off due to the high water level.

In addition to all that, the flooding has denied many people access to clean water. While many good organizations are out there trying to help as much as they can, there’s one that is, to say the least, very interesting.

An Anheuser-Busch plant in Cartersville, Georgia has halted the production of beer temporarily to can clean drinking water for those affected by the flood.

Instead of making beer, they are canning water. It will be given to the Red Cross, who will then take it to Texas and Oklahoma.

Since this is just a temporary cessation of beer production, you shouldn’t have to worry about finding cases of your favorite beer on the shelves this weekend. A short break like this really shouldn’t affect the overall supply of beer available to the public.

Make all the “that beer is practically water already” jokes you want, but this is a classy move. Good on you, Anheuser-Busch. Respect..
