Saying SAE is NF, is just plain ignorant. Don’t generalize a fraternity with more than a hundred chapters across the country. But if this isn’t trying too hard, I don’t know what is. This is like having 3 costa del mar decals on your car.

SAE=NF? What? Their Alpha chapter is Alabama. Mother Mu. It is right there with KA as one of the most authentic southern fraternities.

    2. Brosheppus

Noble DeVotie, SAE’s primary founding father, got bids from every fraternity on Alabama’s campus. Interestingly, none of those fraternities exist anymore… except SAE. Fuck off.

    3. Marco Brolo

The FIJI chapter at Alabama was founded in 1855…..SAE was founded in 1856…a year after the FIJI chapter arrived at Alabama. I think you need to get your facts straight you GDI.

    4. Fratmaster III

Fact of the matter is Noble Devotie got bids from all UA chapters at the time, and saw none of them fit, thusly founding SAE and becoming the TG, need I also remind you the TG (True Gentlemen) for those who might be out of the loop; the same principles on which the men of West Point are taught. PHI ALPHA!

I didn’t know FIJI was at Bama that early – and if they were, they did in fact give him a bid. Get your own facts straight.

The chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at Alabama is not a FIJI chapter. It’s Phi Gam. So, I think y’all are all confused.

    7. SAE (a bunch of hard ass dudes)

THe True Gentleman is a man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies, who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity, who is himself humbled when necessity compels him to humble another, who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast his own possession or achievements, who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy, whose deed follows his word, who thinks of the rights and feelings of other rather than his own, and who appears well in any company; a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe
      – John walter Wayland (1899)

obviously noble leslie devoitie started one of the best organizations on the planet.
