Army Sergeant And Former Sniper Roasts Michael Moore For Calling Snipers Cowards

Army Sgt. And Former Sniper Blasts Michael Moore For Calling Snipers Cowards

Something that has been ingrained in me from an early age is to always respect the men and women who risk their lives so we can enjoy our freedom here at home. Respect shows no bias for a certain job in the military, and all who serve should be treated equally. Director Michael Moore apparently doesn’t share the same sentiment for our troops. On Sunday, he took to Twitter to further strengthen this notion.

Yeah? You’re the real coward here, Mr. Moore. If we didn’t have the cover from snipers, our men and women doing raids would go in blindly with no support. Snipers are heroes, just like the rest of our servicemen and women. Earlier today, Fox News brought Sgt. Nick Irving onto “Fox & Friends.” Irving, who was also a sniper, earned the nickname “The Reaper” for his impressive record. He also is the author of the book “The Reaper.”

The show’s hosts asked him about his thoughts on Michael Moore’s tweet and whether or not Moore should have been thanking him instead of insulting him. Here was his response:

Drop the mic.

I know Moore won’t give it to you, Sgt. Irving, but I will. Thank you for everything you have done to serve the greatest country on the planet. God bless you. Moore can sit on it and spin.

This is a far broader issue than the reasons behind those two wars. This is a general disrespect for the people who fought for our country in all of the wars, past and future. So you and him both should keep your shit eating mouths closed.

11 years ago at 6:52 pm
      1. TokenBlackPledge

The broader issue is Americas wrongful involvement in the Middle East and interfering in the growth process that is necessary for regions to reach peace, see Europe. We created a monster in the Middle East. My father served and I have no disrespect for the Men and Women who serve, they are simply doing their job like anyone else. However, it is wrong to applaud their actions of killing and violence. Especially when those acts of violence don’t protect any freedoms of the U.S. It would be like you applauding an MMA fighter for beating up a trouble causing 10 year old and saying “thank you for keeping me safe” even though you were never in danger in the first place.

I’m shaking in my boots because ISIS is such a threat. Should we invade North Korea too? They have made countless threats like this? Should invade every country that makes a claim we don’t like? The worst part too is, ISIS is and organization and idea. You can’t stop an organization and belief system, it’s impossible. What a weak rebuttal.

I think it’s hilarious that you bring up “if the government shut down” because that would never happen. And if that did happen, we would all be fucked not just Northern Virginians. So I don’t really understand what point you were trying to make. Don’t live in a town home but I’ll make sure to not to forget my daily worship of Obama.

As for Slavery, it existed in the world for thousands of years before America was founded. Within 70 years of its founding, America not only went to war with itself to eradicate and outlaw slavery, but America eventually eradicated slavery as an institution throughout the rest of the world!

11 years ago at 8:46 pm
      3. Rockindale

And then you say that we shouldn’t be involved in the Middle East. Have you not seen videos of people of the Middle East beheading our people? Our allies people? Screaming that they hate America and that they will kill us? Committing acts of terror on our soil? How in the hell do you think that that is not enough reason to blow them to pieces.

11 years ago at 9:03 pm
      4. TokenBlackPledge

The reason is because I am a rational human being who believes brash emotional moves never pan out. What is happening in the Middle East is down right awful. Just like what happened in Europe was awful during the dark ages. The Middle East was colonized by European powers and broken up randomly. The Middle East was never allowed their time to have a thousand years of war so they could peacefully draw their battle lines and form treaties. Europeans stunted this as I said before. Something you may learn if you attended a history class or two. The reason Middle Eastern’s hate Americans so much is because of our involvement in their affairs and attempt at controlling them. You think the Middle East just started hating the U.S for no reason? Osama bin Laden is thought to have been a U.S creation during the 90’s to combat the Soviet Union. The Reagan administration was feeding billions of dollars to Afghanistan’s Islamic resistance to expel Soviet troops from that area. You probably didn’t know that either, seems most Republicans don’t. Do some research and try to look at the world from the a difference perspective than your own. Living in a tiny bubble is no way to live and will only continue to make you angry.

I’ll make it easier for you. Take a bowl of 100 M&Ms. 10 of them have cocaine in them and the other 90 are normal but they all look the same. Would you take the chance and eat all the M&Ms? That’s how America feels about Muslims. We don’t know which ones are bad but we will not take a chance with all of them if we don’t know which ones will hurt us. You’re ignorant because you think America should let the Muslims walk all over us. You say you don’t know what freedoms were gained in these wars, we have all of our freedoms. We are protecting them.

So you think that 10 percent of Muslims are terrorists? I feel like you’re trying to make yourself sound close minded. There are 1.6 billion Muslims walking the earth today. By your math, that means there are 160,000,000 terrorists today. Also what you sound like is a dictator who is willing to sacrifice individual rights for national security. So I am guessing you are also cool with NSA tapping our phones? You must be a fan of big government because that what you need to smash every M&M to keep all of us safe. Are you cool with random searches and seizures as well? The reason you’re so cavalier about sacrificing the freedoms of Muslims is because you aren’t one. It isn’t your problem so why care. Your attitude would change real quick if you were an American Muslim who has done nothing wrong. That’s a pretty shitty way of going through life man, and it only makes you hate.

You clearly don’t have any concept of how the world actually works. The governments of countries in the middle east fund terrorist activities. Your dumbass and everyone else in this great country. I’d like to see you go up to a radical islamist and tell them you’re from America and would like to talk out our problems. 15. FratstarsnStripes

Here ya go Token, the non joking response you’ve been looking for.

You are entitled to have your opinions about the necessity of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. You are entitled to say, “However, it is wrong to applaud their actions of killing and violence. Especially when those acts of violence don’t protect any freedoms of the U.S.” There are a lot of people who agree with you by saying – support the troops, don’t send them to wars.

However, it is wrong in our eyes for you and Moore to say we shouldn’t be applauding their actions of killing and violence. I do think Chris Kyle is a hero and worthy of applause because he saved many American lives. He saved his brothers’ lives in military uniforms by killing people that wanted to kill some American soldiers. One of the things beat into us during pledgeship was ”Be your brothers’ keeper” and that holds true to the men in our military. I’d rather have the Americans come back alive and walking instead of dead or rolling. I don’t care if it cost the life of someone who picked up a gun in the streets and was willing to risk their life to take the life of one of our own.

During the war, whether it was unnecessary or not we have to support our troops. You can protest the war, call for an end to it to stop the killing and stop the risk to American Soldiers, but just the way I’m reading your comments it comes off very “anti-soldier” Your comments here make you seem like the type of guy that waits for a plane or bus to drop off soldiers returning from war to spit in their face.

        That would be very NF.

Name a domestic attack on U.S soil since September 11, 2001 that is one tenth the size of the 9/11 attacks. That seems to be the least talked about point regarding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan whenever a discussion like this takes place. You think you’re safe, that no militaristic action is ever necessary to maintain peace and freedom, but you are wrong. Remember that the next time you post another nonsensical diatribe on the internet in the peace and comfort of your own home.

11 years ago at 8:56 pm
      1. TokenBlackPledge

If you think the U.S invading Iraq is the reason there has not been another 9/11 you don’t get out much. We have actually pissed off the Middle East more with our involvement. The reason for lack of 9/11s is heightened security. But there have still been hundreds of attempts to recreate that awful day by radical terrorists. You should no that correlation equals does not equal causation. What a weak point. Also, if you actually care to read, I never said “no militaristic action is ever necessary”. I said I believe that there is too much force being implemented in places we do not belong and should not applaud the killing of other human beings. It’s not the movie I have the problem with, it’s the ignorant sheep who take a radical hate message from it.
