Bama Running Back Posts Photo Of New Car On Instagram, Gets Roasted By The Internet

The Dodge Challenger base model starts around 26 grand. Alabama sophomore running back Derrick Henry’s new Challenger–which you can see in the above photo that he posted on his Instagram account–appears to be a few tiers above “base.” When you factor in custom paint, new shoes, and the other add-ons kids are into these days, I think a fair estimate is in the 37 to 40 grand range. It’s not a Ferrari, but it’s a nice fucking car for a college kid.

Now, I know absolutely nothing about Derrick Henry’s upbringing or what his parents do. For all I know, his old man is an oil tycoon worth nine figures and his family summers in St. Barts every year. What I do know, however, is that it’s a really terrible idea to flaunt your new whip on social media when the entire sporting world is waiting in the bushes, ready for you to slip up, so they can rip you to shreds for it.

As a blue chip athlete enrolled at the crimson NFL factory otherwise known as the University of Alabama, speculation of improper benefits follows a photo like this 100 percent of the time. I’m positive your coaches went over this stuff during freshmen football orientation. It’s just poor form.

As you guessed, the Internet responded. People weren’t kind.

He wasn’t interested in the package deal until Saban threw in the post-stock rims.

What the hell is post-stock? I think the term you are looking for is aftermarket, champ.

Your name on this site has the phrase ‘yolo’ in it; therefore, your opinion is invalid.

What gets me are the kids saying that shit have hundreds of dollars worth of ink all over their arms, are wearing their custom Beats, and sporting new shoes all the time. Plus getting full rides? Get out of here with that BS

Tattoo’s true, but custom Beats and other items of that sort are often given as (legal) gifts for bowl games and what not.

Why would one summer in St. Bart’s? That’s a winter destination. C’mon Dorn.

Henry kept them in it though. If it weren’t for him it would have ACTUALLY been a blowout like all the Bama haters say, not a 2 touchdown loss like it actually was.
