As if you needed more evidence that the Bush family is one of the greatest family-political dynasties of all time, Barbara Bush is still showing the world what’s up despite seemingly entering the final chapter of her life.

Mrs. Bush, wife of George H. W. Bush and First Lady from 1989 to 1993, is apparently struggling to breathe, focusing on comfort instead of medical treatment while in the hospital. However, none of that is going to stop her from getting her drink on.

A source close to the Bush family tells CBS News' Jenna Gibson that, while Mrs. Bush's COPD makes it difficult for her to breathe, she is alert and was having conversations last night. She was also having a bourbon.

Barbara Bush: All-American Badass.

This is so inspirational in so many damn ways. Mrs. Bush likely knows there isn’t much more time left so every move she makes is a decisive one. It sounds like she’s surrounded by loved ones, including bourbon. In fact, bourbon, especially ol’ trusty Jim Beam, has apparently been a family staple for the Bush’s for quite some time.

The Bush family is just your everyday, hard-working, blue-collar family that just so happened to rise to the pinnacle of political power. Nothing wrong with that.
