Best Campus Blackout Restaurants: College Station

The SEC has just officially gained its newest members in Texas A&M and Missouri. Along with these schools comes pride, tradition, and new food joints to explore on roadies. In this edition of BCBR, we’re heading to College Station, TX. Texas A&M has one of the oldest football programs in the country, a pride among its fans like no other school, and strong traditions (the 12th man, Reveille, penis envy for the University of Texas, etc.). One of the most popular traditions, however, is eating blacked out at Fuego Tortilla Grill.

Located next to College Station’s most popular bar spot, Northgate, Fuego is in premier position for a herd of intoxicated Aggies. I can personally vouch for Northgate and its fun times. The last time I was down there I motorboated a MILF for three solid minutes, and she loved me for it. Fuego’s menu consists of tacos, burritos, soups and seafood baskets. Most people go for breakfast tacos and fish tacos, but the queso is the most ordered item on the menu. It’s pretty common to see a handful of kids, with half unbuttoned shirts and drunk enough to barely stand, with some of Fuego’s roasted poblano queso smeared all over their clothes, fingers and mouths. Fuego’s good qualities keep on stacking though, as there is no vegetarian item on the menu, keeping GDIs at bay. Fuego is ideal for a college student on a budget, as most meals can fill one up for around $5. After munching down on tacos or queso, be sure to get a “magic cookie” for dessert. No, it’s not a weed cookie. Grow up, hipsters.

Fuego Tortilla Grill is a landmark in College Station. With great Mexican food for a cheap price and being open 24 hours, Fuego is the perfect spot to get one’s drunk munchies on. Until I’ve been proven wrong, Fuego is currently leading the race for the SEC’s best breakfast tacos and queso. Next time you’re down in College Station, be sure to stop by Fuego Tortilla Grill for great, cheap, insides-destroying Mexican fare. After witnessing legal rape episodes on Saturdays this fall, use Fuego to lift your spirits back up.

    Where is OU at on this series? I don’t care if A&M moves to the NFL: they are still going suck – just like have, just like do, and just like they will. OU has dominated the “Aggs” for decades – not to mention a 77-0 smack down in 2004. OU controls a dominance much higher in Greek ratio as well. TFM dropped the ball on skipping the Sooners out.
