Black Guy At NHL Game Thinks He’s Going To See The Washington Wizards Play Basketball

On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Flyers took their five-game point streak down I-95 to face off against the Washington Capitals and that Commie Ovechkin. The Flyers are playing the best hockey they’ve played all season, and they secured another victory yesterday with a 3-1 win. They’ve just been laying waste to the rest of the Metropolitan Division as of late. The ass-beatings they’ve been handing out would constitute assault if they happened anywhere else.

The game-winning goal against the Caps came late in the third period, courtesy of left-winger Wayne Simmonds. He’s been on fire and he leads the Flyers in goals scored, which is a total cliché because Simmonds is a black dude.

Before you get all outraged and call me a racist, listen to the facts. Simmonds is one of only 30 black or biracial players in the league. I’d be seriously surprised if that many black people attended an NHL game league-wide in one season.

Playing up on the pretty well known stereotype, a black fan had some fun with two signs he brought to the Capitals game at the Verizon Center yesterday.

He gave quite a few people a laugh with this one:

I love how he’s seriously the ONLY guy in the picture without a jersey or some kind of team affiliation garb. Totally owning the fish-out-of-water vibe.

Who knows? Maybe John Wall or the Wizards franchise will take notice and actually hook him up with some tickets to a game.

A hockey player is married to Carrie Underwood… I think that in itself is worthy of, if not being a TFM, at least not being NF.
