Blogger Is Offended By TFM’s Ebola Joke, Wishes We All Get Ebola

Which is worse: cracking a harmless joke about a deadly virus, or willing said deadly virus on the people who make jokes about a deadly virus?

The humorless Elizabeth Kulze of Vocativ.com took us to task about a pair of Ebola-themed one-liners: this one and this one. You missed this one, by the way, babe. In her op-ed, “Frat Kid Suggests ‘Ebola Bros, Nurse Hoes’ Rager,” she basically condemns the shit out of the jokes, citing the 3,300 people who have been killed by the virus and the decimation of “the public health systems in three African countries.”

From Vocativ:

More like TDM as in total dick move, #AmIRight?

I like this. Funny. Jokes, even you have them.

She goes on to point out how popular each one-liner was on Twitter, you know, because they’re funny, not because they advocate the disease or because the people who wrote them wish Ebola upon others. That would be messed up.

Kulze, up to this point, makes a valid argument. Ebola isn’t funny. It’s killing people. It’s a tragic epidemic. Look, we make jokes, but we’re not monsters. We don’t want people to actually contract the damn thing. Ya know?

You feel me, Liz?

Karma, if you’re out there, you know what to do.

Oh. Okay.

I always enjoy waking up to find a fresh cup of liberal hypocrisy and a plate of steaming, grilled butthurt from the internet’s do-gooders waiting for me. Really cleanses the soul and arteries.

I’m going to just take a shot in the dark, and ask, “You must be new here?”
