The above text message alert was sent to USC’s 25,000+ students, and all buildings were put on lockdown. Students have since been released as police have confirmed there is no longer an active shooter, but the Public Health Research Center is closed for the remainder of the day.

Two bodies have been found and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating an apparent murder-suicide. As of now, no names have been released and it’s unclear whether or not the deceased are students, faculty, or connected with the university at all.

We’ll update as more details unfold.

A TA that was fired came back and killed the professor and then turned the gun on himself. That’s what my friends at usc said. The campus received the all clear and classes are scheduled to continue. Prayers to gamecocks and the family of the victim.

I understand the severity and how unfortunate it is that this kind of this is happened at South Carolina, so that being said, my deepest condolences and my prayers to the students and their families. Tragedies like this should never happen.

I am curious, however, as to why no article has mentioned anything about the Theta Chi at Illinois who went missing for over a week and was then found shot in the head a few days ago. Also a terrible tragedy, but no mention whatsoever on a Fraternity related site.

Submit a fucking news tip instead of bitching about it on an article dealing with a very serious and unfortunate incident.

USC’s right down the road from me at Coastal Carolina and I’ve got family and friends at that school, so it’s always scary to hear about anything like this.

Rest in peace. Sometimes you have to realize it can all end in a few short minutes. God bless.
