Cal Poly’s Lambda Chi Finds Out Wearing Blackface Is A Very Poor Decision

I’m not sure when people will figure it out, but I thought we decided that wearing blackface to anything for any reason at any point in time was a bad idea. Sadly, though, I’ve got to write this article because some knucklehead didn’t think.

California Polytechnic State University’s Lambda Chi is in some shit right now after a member was photographed in full blackface. The photo apparently came from an April 7th brotherhood event and made rounds on social media after members posted pics.

According to Lambda Chi President Logan Boersma, the photo was taken at a Lambda Chi brotherhood event this past weekend. Boersma said the blackface was not racially motivated.

“We had a brotherhood event, big bros and little bros and families,” Boersma said. “Each of us had a team based on your family, you can pick whatever theme you want. One color chosen was black and that is why the person’s face was colored.”

Okay, Monique, I’m with you right up until the #yourkidsarentsafehere hashtag. Please — and I mean this with the utmost respect — but please go kindly fist yourself. All you’re trying to do is fear monger so your Facebook post goes viral and you can rack up some strange and worthless internet cred. I don’t think these kids are going around murdering puppies and pillaging the university. It’s just a dumb kid and his dumb decision, lady.

Now, back to the blackface. Let me see, how do I phrase this? Ah, yes. You stupid cuck. At what point were you like “Ah, this is so solid. Boys gonna laugh so damn hard at this shit. I’ll be a legend, LEGEND I TELL YOU!”? Fraternities live under a microscope on every campus because of many misconceived notions. You sir, however, aren’t helping anybody’s case.

Interestingly, this incident has apparently been added to a growing list of triggering events on campus that will result in a protest this Friday. The event description reads, “With Milo Yiannopoulos coming to campus, students doing black face, serial rapists walking free on campus, tuition and fees rising endlessly, and 1 in 4 students hungry–enough is enough.” So, uh, yeah, that’s happening. .
